I don't believe that gf has ever expressly admitted to a hatred of Muslims let alone attributed it to 'their intolerance of gays and women'. If he had I would have gladly taken issue with him on the women point, as their, at times, poor treatment is cultural rather than rooted in Islam.

What gf has done is draw attention to the apparent contradiction in the stance of people who speak out in defence of both Islam and the rights of gay people

I have to say that I have never seen that apparent contradiction addressed.

But you don't see the contradiction in those that attack Islam for the (unacceptable) believers among them that are intolerant of gays (extremely non pc wouldn't you agree?) and their repeated attacks on the so called leftie PC brigade, exemplified in the support for the film in this thread and the 'lefty movie' thread nearby?

I personally have addressed this many times. I'll clear it up for you again in summary here: There is no contradiction, for me anyway. Any Islamic individual that speaks out openly/promotes hatred and intolerance against gay people, or any other people, in any way, and maintains this belief, has no place in UK society for me.

BY the way I am by chance going to speak to some muslims this morning. I will quote some of the stuff gfire says on here to them and ask them their opinion on his views. I will also show them your comment you have just put on here and ask them their views. I wonder what they will say. I will tell them you work in the legal profesion as well and ask if they would like you to represent them in a case about racist comments on message boards. Do you think they would use you?
