There were 4,800 Leeds fans at Hillsborough.
If they’d brought that amount to Bramall Lane then it would have been just over 30K.

Also just to clarify when we were in the PL the bottom tier had 2,990 seats.

There’s a PL rule that ALL PL clubs must allocate away fans 3,000 seats or 10% of their stadium, which ever is lower.
United were 10 short but the PL allowed it.

This season we’ve given most away teams just over 2,200 seats but for some reason some clubs have been allowed just over 2,300.

I remember when we first opened the Westfield corner stand, McCabe said it was a great design because by shutting off doors inside the upper concourse we can be really flexible regards away allocations.

Remember the first match in the PL against Liverpool.
We gave Liverpool 2,990 tickets in the lower tier PLUS an extra 1,500 in the upper tier with an area netted off for segregation.

The attendance for that match was 31,700 with 4,500 allocated for away fans.

Why can’t this arrangement be used this season? It’s already been proven safe and successful.

27,200 tickets for home fans and a max of 4,500 tickets for away fans.

That Liverpool game was in 2006,SYP and the SAG have moved the goalposts since then, you want away fans in both the upper and lower, that would mean no United fans in the Westfield corner,I like the fact United are thinking of our own fans .

In 2006 at the Liverpool match there was both home and away fans in the top tier.
According to McCabe that was a big feature of joining in the corner stand, “flexible allocations” to away fans.

I suppose the main question is what’s changed from 2006 to now?
Would love to know the truth the police restrict stadium capacity so much and why it keeps changing almost on a whim.

If giving away clubs both tiers means closing the corner stand then obviously it’s a non starter
Because we fill the corner stand every match.

but dont you agree blockers if we cant get enough people up there for certain games why not let more away fans if they can sell em and lets make some extra cash weve a good enough squad now and wont matter if away team gets more backing in fact i think our fans respond more when theres more noise from the away end creating a far better atmosphere than what we have had this season as rod would say however its all abart opinions mate in any case were all blades arnt we coyraww utb ftp

No don't agree,in fact if it was up to me,I would give all away teams the same allocation as we gave Chesterfield in last game of our Centurions season.
