I’m not that fussed about the league position. I’ve watched worse Aberdeen teams than this one but there’s a weakness running right through the club, like a big runny skid mark. It starts with Milne, goes to McInnes, Craig Browns Loving Cup, the shyte bag players & to fans like yourself.

They might’ve been worse but AFC have never been this weak

I think today was a decent game, it was a good tactful game that forced Celtic to go long on a number of occasions and restricted their efforts.
We can also see that Celtic under Rodgers and SevCo since e window ha dramatically improved.
Both cheeks realise the threat we pose and raise their games accordingly.
There’s no resting of players or taking it easy when they play us.
So it’s an aspect that means we struggle to beat them when some other “lesser” teams manage

How we did not score today I do not know.
Derek McInnes has you lapping up the saying that they raise their game against us. Nonsense....we as a club (players and manager) set up looking scared against them. We should have tried to go at them from the start but were set up not to press them high up the park. It totally backfired when Celtic scored in the first half.
McInnes has the worst consecutive defeats against Celtic. Not a proud record!

Record points last year, two cup finals. It was always going o be difficult to replicate, but were still up there.
Someone also posted that he has beat Celtic 4 Times in his tenure which is more than the previous 8 managers accumulated in total under Milne.

I think we are also going through a transformation in the team / squad and we’ll continue again in the summer.
I’m far from convinced we would get any better, anyone who does supersede DM will be a risk and more likely fare worse than DM in my opinion
^^^ a fan who accepts this negative approach. We got record points last year but won nothing. It’s the winning that counts in football.

We pressed in the right areas at the right time.
Celtic like to play from the back and we stopped them doing this.
When Their keeper had the ball, we practically played a 3-4-3. Pushing up on their back three and covering their midfielders.
It was man for man at that point and I feared if they won the ball we could be exposed.

They had a couple of great chances after a defensive mistake, which Woodman made a great double save from.
Other than that their only real chance in the first half (outside of defensive mistakes (Sclaff clearances)) was their goal.
The second half, they only had their counter attack goal which troubled Woodman.

I think the tactics were very good, albeit not the most energetic up and at them style most fans would like.
Very effective when you consider the squad was also missing Shinnie and Christie.

I’m not lapping up DM’s comments at all.
Indeed Rodgers showed respect with his comments about Pittodrie being the hardest place in the league to come to and that they need to be up for it.
You never see Rodgers put out a weakened / rested 3am when he plays us.

    Lol........
I saw more wins last year than in he seasons before and before that.
Yes we did not wi any silver, but we were he closest team outwith Celtic to do so.

It’s not about acceptance, it’s about realism.

Celtic in 2nd gear still had more shots at goal, shots on target and crucially more goals. You talk about them in the first half, but I certainly cannot remember De Vries being troubled at all by us.
Our tactics were pathetic and totally wrong. Celtic came back from Russia after getting a doing. What do we do...sit off them and let them dictate the game to us in our own stadium.
It was the wrong approach from McInnes because at the end of the day we were beaten. Celtic should have been there for the taking but we bottled it and let them play the way that made it easier for them.

Yawn, I admitted that and explained I was talking about the whole game.
The first 10 minutes of that game I thought we were just being pulled all over the place.

Do you deny that when the Celtic keeper had the ball, that we pushed right up and forced them long?

It’s true we did not create too much in the first half.
May had a great opportunity when we pressed them high and if he managed to get it through Ajer’s legs, I reckon he would have beat De Vries.
Our most likely attacks was from set plays and unfortunately none of them really troubled De Vries either.

We could have gone gun hoe on them, but then left lots of space for them to pick their way through us.
I thought we were very effective in stopping Celtic play through our lines.
Defensive errors led to their best chances in the first half.
Second half Celtic had far less opportunity.

It’s possible that time was a tactic from DM following Celtics trip and looking to benefit later in the game as tiredness grew more.
How May and McGinn didn’t score I don’t know.
