I don't think anyone's said having no PATG is a good thing.

But there are some very simple steps the club could take to make it easier to get in. Using smartphone technology to allow ticket purchase and gate entry would be piss easy, and could effectively be used to emulate PATG by the punter.

I quite like this thing that Barcelona do with ATM machines. of course it would have to be looked at for allowing away fans to buy tickets in the home end , would never happen with AFC though:

If you would like to buy the tickets once you are in Barcelona, a simple and good option is to buy them in an ATM machine, in La Caixa bank in ServiCaixa ATMs you can buy football tickets as well as theatre tickets and others (you will recognize it because there is a blue star as their logo).

It is not necessary to have a bank account with La Caixa, the only thing you need is a credit card, they have their ATMs in English and other languages so it will be easy for you to follow the steps.

I somehow don’t think that would work up here....sadly......it is a good idea though and similar to other countries, when I worked in Germany you got a ticket(26 euros approx) and that included any public transport......I would then purchase a ticket at the ground (depending if I was thirsty/hungry I was) to be used all over the stadium......cause of the ugly sisters behaviour culminating in a full scale riot at Hampden in 1980.....as a nation we cannot enjoy a match like I do when travelling......well you can join a line of folk waiting patiently to be overcharged for a pie/bovril.

Read an article in the Scotsman today about a chap who’s an expert on stadiums & who Aberdeen went to for advice about our move.

‘’He can’t abide new grounds built miles outside the city, as Aberdeen are currently planning. Fletcher would always opt to build on the same site if possible’’

Nice to see we’ve taken that on board

That article says he has been advising Aberdeen on the new stadium. If that's true, Milne hasn't listened to him.

Interesting bit about West Hans ground costing nearly a billion, yet they all hate it.

Wonder if any supporter enjoys being in their new purpose built stadium more than their old one. I’m guessing but bet you Man City fans preferred Maine Rd, Arsenal Highbury etc

It's all about sentimental value I would imagine. Well in most cases at least. Your football clubs home becomes a big part of your life and who wouldn't be upset about moving somewhere else.

The problem with West Ham's ground is that it is an athletics stadium and the fans are too far from the pitch. Like at Hampden.
