With these owners knowing nowt abart football and evving little interest in the game, instead delegating to people who ev little knowledge of the Championship/League One I fear for the future. I fear a load of second rate continental players will roll in ovva the summer who will struggle in League One.
Tha nivva knows though. Brentford might be full of nerves tomorra and we sneak a 1-0, similarly at Derby.
Brentford work a similar way in recruitment , maybe we’ll get there in the end

True ESR. One key difference may be that the Brentford owner Matthew Benham has ploughed £90 million into the club. Another is they have Dean Smith as coach who knows the game in this country.
Interesting article by journalist Martin Samuel written at the time Benham sacked their continental coach Marinus Dijkhuizen--
"Marinus Dijkhuizen is gone amidst reports of disorganised training and doubts about his stewardship. All sounds a bit subjective doesn't it for a (Brentford) regime run by numbers. Almost as if there is a little bit more to the game than data"
