We need a new no 9 yeah? If you could go in a lab and create one using
any attribute from any past strikers what would this monster look like?
I would be interested to hear the views of the old hands about players from pre 1990. I realise that big Al ticks all of these boxes well so I've use him as the baseline
prototype and tried to improve him. I know its a bit childish but fk it, its Sunday morning and I'm seething about the last two matches and the effort put in - need to go to my happy place.

Great thread!
I'd add Scorer of crucial goals: David Kelly
Looking at strike rate totals I see Albert Stubbins had some kind of crazy fool total of 237 goals in 200 games but it was during wartime so doesn't count. I tried to fit KK in but couldn't - maybe create his own category of "fuse lighting ability of the fans" or something.
And how about 'sell-on value': Andy Carroll![]()
Well we got £30 million for Carroll, imagine how much Ashley would screw out of the club that wanted the above machine![]()
![]()
....Carroll might get his own "pint drinking ability" category.
Nolan for celebration factor
I would say Shearer but that was so traditionally his I can't take it to give to another, if that makes sense.
Could Supermac not be in there somewhere ?
