".....You got me wrong about the £30 Million not being given to the FA for "grass roots" and they would get it another way, I meant the Government allocating it straight to councils for them to distribute to the clubs direct......."

alto --heaven help us if they give it to the councils direct because there are more and more councils who are trying to offload the maintenance of playing fields and up here in Northumberland they have been encouraged to place mowing and lining equipment in central areas so that grassroots teams can do the work themselves for a reduction in their pitch fees. It has been tried so far in a few places, however, problems are arising where two teams share the same facility because, whereas one team is willing to do whatever is necessary the other is not and this in itself is causing further problems.
In all honesty, the future has got to be with 4G pitches because there have been so many games postponed this season that many local leagues have had to extend their season and some clubs are playing 6 days per week to get fixtures completed, This has also been the case in the Northern League which is part of the pyramid system.
Mind you, therein lies another problem because if a club makes satisfactory progress within the pyrmaid system they will reach a level where 4G pitches are unacceptable. Catch 22 methinks.

Hughton happy with FA and no mention of any further action.
