Much more drama in store for today than yesterday. Though I thought yesterday's games were entertaining, only three teams had something real at stake. Today, there are two teams in Group C and three in Group D that their World Cup up in the air.

I think Denmark will get a draw against France to secure their spot in the knockouts. In Group D, I think Argentina will win. But it'll depend on the Croatia-Iceland game as to whether they advance. Iceland have the advantage of goal difference, as well as playing a team that has the top spot in the group wrapped up and will probably rest some players.

Unless Argentina undergo a massive transformation I can't see them beating Nigeria who have had a significant up tick in form. Either way we should have two great games this evening!

An excellent through ball to Messi and a quality finish from him, 1-0.

Mascherano can have no complaints in my opinion for giving away the penalty that Moses has scored from. I'm glad in the games i have watched that players are being punished for holding, shirt pulling and basically bear hugging the opposition player.

Not every handball in the area is a penalty, i agree with the ref for not awarding Nigeria one. Ighalo could've done better with the chance that fell to him.

Messi and Aguero would be proud of that finish by Rojo, 2-1.

I didn't watch any of this afternoon's games, but it's so good to see Germany go out.

It would have been a funny meltdown from Mexico fans, coaches, players and their federation to see them play so well in the WC, only to be left at home if Germany had pulled off a late win. But I think with how the teams played over three games, Sweden and Mexico are the ones that deserve to move on. Though Mexico really did themselves in by finishing second. Now they have to play Brazil instead of Switzerland. Would have had a realistic path to the semifinals to be honest. Now they have to get through Brazil in the round of 16, then probably England or Belgium. Whereas they would have faced Switzerland and then probably England/Belgium.

That said, I want Mexico’s coach as the next coach for the US. There’s rumors it may happen. He switches players in and out a lot, but he does so with a purpose. Think he’d be a good selection.
