This season what do we expect ?

Gotta say I was over the moon when we sacked Pulis as I was so fed up of the crappy defensive footy we were playing
I thought Pards would do okay and maybe the fact he couldn’t isn’t just to do with the fact that he’s a crap manager, but it’s obvious that we have some dodgy characters in the group of players we have.

Initially I thought well it will be like previous seasons in the Championship which I’ve enjoyed but whenever we’ve gone down before we’ve kept the main spine of our squad let alone team, now Evans has gone, Myhill, Yacob, Hegazi, Dawson and even Foster look on the way out
Rodriguez and Rondon will probably leave too and with our ageing midfield and games coming thick and fast on Saturdays and midweek, I’m not sure we have the right players to cope.

I think Reid would have been a great buy, but I think we won’t get him now
I feel for Big Dave because like most Albion fans we have a real soft spot for him, but I fear we don’t have the right characters and he will spend the start of the season trying to blend partners together at centre half, midfield and up front

Not many teams have been able to overhaul their squad and have a good season the only I can think of is Southampton a couple of seasons ago.

Also if we don’t get out next season I think we could be here for some time.
I hope I’m wrong, I’d love for Big Dave to do well, he deserves it, but we as a club have definitely rested on our laurels and it’s ironic it’s the season we splashed the cash that we went down.

Still think the turning point was not sacking Pulis when he went half a season without barely a point

We would have been better off going down under Irvine than having Pulis for all that time only to end up in a mess like this.
That or replaced Irvine with a manager with a bit of panache.

Im dreading this season everyone seems they want to leave , no players as yet coming in , don't look like our owner wants to spend cash , we have a untried manager even the most optrmistic fan must admit , their's not a lot going for us at the moment .

Moore sacked by November, club for sale by Christmas and a team full of freebies and loanies and fighting off relegation. Hope I'm wrong but got a very bad feeling about this season.

I expect to be at least challenging for a top 6 place this season. I really can't comprehend the negativity on here.

I think with the squad and players we have right now, we have a great chance of a top 2 finish.

However, it is likely that players will leave and its how and who we replace them with which will define our season.

Some on here are talking about cash from the owner, I don't think he needs to spend anything. Until we know who is leaving and if we get the right amount of cash for our players, we can use that money to reinvest in players. It ain't all about money, we spent more last season than we've ever done in our history and look what happened. Its about identifying the right type of footballer for us. Dawson cost us £400k, there are other gems in the league like him.

If people on here are talking about relegation and are not looking forward to next season, then what is the point of you going up? If you can't be optimistic and excited for the season ahead before a ball is kicked, then you have lost all enjoyment for it.

Thing is - if you can't be deadly and get it on target in the greed league, why would this be any difference in the championship. Rondon was crap at Accrington so why should he be any better this season.....

Then again - he holds that feckin ball up well

Rondon didn't get many goals because the players around him weren't creating chances. Astle wouldn't have got many in this team. He missed plenty but was regularly fed chances so he became a legend. Regis, Taylor & Phillips likewise. Because so few were created for Rondon people bemoan the ones he missed.
