What doesn't make sense is the club is heamorriging more and more money the longer we remain down in the lower leagues. We cannot run a sustainable club at this level, so the logical approach is to get back to the prem asap.

Of course it's "logical"; in financial terms, EVERY club wants to be in the PL! Unfortunately, there are only 20 places, and we are NOT Chelsea or Manchester City. Football is not the Rao family's number one priority.
As I said, moaning and groaning about that won't make an iota of difference. To be honest, Venky's don't even seem that bothered we are running at a loss - probably because we are a small, insignificant outpost in their empire.
In terms of football, the Championship is likely to provide far more in the way of fun, excitement and level competition than the PL.
    Just embrace it, Saxo!

I can't.. The knowledge that no matter how well you play as a team, or how your players perform, knowing its a substandard level compared to our deadly rivals ruins it.

Really? I have no issues with Burnley myself. Just another club - except that I'm impressed with how well they've done with limited resources. It's their day at the moment, but take comfort from these words of Boethius, the Roman philosopher:

"It's my belief that history is a wheel. 'Inconstancy is my very essence,' says the wheel. 'Rise up on my spokes if you like but don't complain when you're cast back down into the depths'. Good times pass away, but then so do the bad. Mutability is our tragedy, but it's also our hope. The worst of times, like the best, are always passing away."

To me, if the success of your particular club is all that matters, then it's as if you're not really a football-lover at all. They might as well be playing tiddlywinks if all you care about is the relative positions of the two clubs!

Saxo frustrates me at times too, but it's still possible to veer away from the negativity to discuss the football issues.
Saxo wants to focus on Venky's funding as "the big issue". To me, it's a red herring. Venky's are what they are. The funding is what it is. Whingeing won't make the slightest bit of difference.
As for you, Saxo, if the big picture overwhelms you, just do what lots of others have done: boycott the club altogether until the Raos have gone. It's a perfectly logical and ethical position to take. I couldn't do it myself, because I've always been more interested in the team than the politics, but I know just how strongly some people feel.
I'm still not sure what you want. Would being back in the PL satisfy you? Apparently not, because you don't like relegation battles, and I certainly can't see us being in the top half again in my lifetime.
Just enjoy the football, man. That's ultimately what it's all about.
I get puzzled sometimes by why people get involved. On the Telegraph site, recently, an article on footballing points arising from the Liverpool game got fewer than 20 responses; on the other hand, there were about 200 comments on the new shirts!
What the "intercourse" is going on?

I think I am too emotionally involved Auks. Lets face it, every week last season I would come on and try to give a match report, or shed some light on how I saw games going, as I was attending the vast majority.
And a lad who hasn't set foot inside Ewood for years upon years is coming on to put a dampner on everything.
Commenting on things he hasn't seen?
Being critical of things he isn't part of, or has seen?
Questioning the manager, and the tactics, the players etc.
His presence on here is a bullying, take over of threads style of personality.

Why comment on something you are not interested in?
You don't support Blackburn Rovers. And have not been for many years. You just happened to live near the town when they had money and you could brag to your mates that you watched Prem football.
You are a fan of England and Premier league stars like Wayne Rooney.
Anything under Wayne Rooney is deemed as 'beneath' you.

And this attitude takes over every single thread.
He even moaned the night we won promotion.
You are ruining it. There a few as you know here, that's it. We aren't argumentative people. Just a few lads who enjoy football, and watch Rovers.
You still have not got your head around the fact there are lots of fans like us, who only care about Rovers. And could not care about money or the Venky's.
If we don't sign another person this season, I will still be there. I will still find money I have not got, to support my team.

And when we finally go back up, the likeyhood is I will refrain from going. And let people like you return.

Yes we can all just ignore you, but you do have a way of bullying your way into a conversation. There are sites where you can speak with like minded people. Who will sit and discuss the colour blue on a football shirt for days, but could not hold a conversation about football. You would be better versed to sit and talk to those people.

Its not even a debate, you never respond, You dont listen to other peoples opinions. Its just bullying tactics to ruin threads, because of the type of person you are, not the team you don't support, or the various towns you live.

Football has, and always will, run deeper than an owner of a football club.

All people like me, Auks, Robin (even Alf) are looking forward to is a good season in a league where everyone is pretty much on a similar level. Its exciting, its fun, its football. Its not a fashion accessory, or bragging rights to our mates. Just a simple love of football.

Do you have to insist on ruining every thread in the one place we chose to have a chat about Rovers? When there are plenty of other sites where inane rubbish is talked. You would fit into a place where the glass is always half empty. Where people get to talk about Wayne Rooney earning £220k a week to stroll around at Everton. Or bask in the glory of their latest £50m striker. Or jump for joy when England beat Panama.
All I suggest is, you can stick your own? With like minded people?
And leave us to talk about something we have a common interest in, supporting BRFC.

There is no right or wrong. I just feel you don't really have anything to comment on here?
Nobody is really interested in going back in time, going over old ground.
We just want to talk about football. What happens on a Sat at 3pm. Nothing else counts.
And you admit your self, you simply have not been for many a year. So you aren't really qualified to talk about something you have not seen.

Please expand on this? We have barley been in the same division in your entire life?
We have rarely played them. They have never been our rivals.
The only time you have watched Rovers, they where just a Premier League Team with money. Who had bought a place in the Prem with money.
Burnley where in the 3rd tier of English football. In no way was that a rivalry. Other than the odd cup match, we had only one season in the Prem together. They had no money, we had loads. Not rivals.
Once we got relegated, you stopped going.

So in what way do you feel Burnley are rivals? For you to say deadly?
    You don't live in Blackburn?
So you are not affected by local banter.
So where did this 'deadly rival' come from? If you have been to 3 Rovers - Burnley derbies in your entire life, I will be shocked.

a £100m is pocket change for the Venkys. Its not even an issue.

Champs.. Why are you still talking to me, let alone a ridiculously long post like those two? You don't like my opinion, fine, but you can't force me to shut up. As long as people reply to my views I will keep posting. I hope you can accept that and live with it.

    * I note you first reply was to aucks, but you ended up clearly aiming the reply directly at me.

    One thing to think about
If we spend big and don't achieve promotion then what?
We stare at the fact we would have a massive financial black hole worse than what we are in currently and a embargo to boot.
