Hi all,
chatting with my mate in Porto, who told me earlier today they had signed Mbemba before the story broke officially. Our conversation turned to Diego Reyes.
He is not happy (to say the least - can't repeat here the exact words as it will just be **** **** ****) that this fella was allowed to run down his contract.
As I mentioned in the Mbemba thread that he, Diego Reyes, was allowed to depart for free. He also said the guy is quality but is not a physical type of defender. When I asked if he would be able to handle the 'Classic English CF like Andy Carrol' (bad example I know as Carrol spends more time on the treatment table than on the field but you get my drift) he said probably not.
I guess if he is back up and Laselles is next to him to deal with the physical side of the game then maybe he will be fine but one on one against a sledge hammer CF he will struggle.
For free, I guess better than nothing!

It's called the Bosnian
Thought he was Mexican?
i spoke to an ex player of ours who has gone abroad to play in new zealand
and he says players will run down contracts preferably at his level as they get signing on fees direct to them and can ask for higher wages etc as they dont have transfer fees
its how they extend their playing career
if you are confident in your agent/ability and were a run of the mill player why wouldnt you
the top players dont need to ,they renew contracts get extra wages and a signing fee for the newcontract their agent gets a bit
but i would say there are a lot of good free signings around
if you have the contacts and also a lot coming to the end of contracts with small release clauses
again if you have the contacts
we dont anymore
