Hi 53, i went to Spon lane and had to go to George Salters for my 5th year because our school was closing down. I now live by Willinsworth, on the Bilston rd the front of Myrtle terrace been there since 1990.
Used to go with our youth Lodge rd to Willingsworth youth club disco.

Yes, congrats 53, life's for living, some forget that at times, perhaps we all do from time to time. Good luck with retirement, I worried when my mom and dad retired as I've seen some go down hill but they've always said they don't know how they had time to go to work!

Question I've often wondered about if you're retired, do you still get excited when it's Friday?

I often used to hear retired people say ‘everyday seems the same’, or something like that. I couldn’t envisage such a thing as each particular day has it’s characteristics and some are always to be looked forward to. But it did not take long to slip out of the habit and to often have to think hard about just what day it actually is. Best of all for me is that there is no such thing as that Sunday evening feeling.

If you get bored when not at work then maybe you should have been born a pit pony. If work is all you live for god help you.

Was lucky enough to be able to retire at 55 best job I ever had. Able to do this because in 1990 made a big decision to stick my hard earned into property rather than a pension.

Don't get this don't know what to do with my time.

Pick up my State Pension at 65.1/2 which is 14 months away.

I don't mind the job I do, I don't much like being at home doing nothing but watching TV. Hopefully when the day comes I will be up to getting out and about. Sadly, like I said my wife isn't one for strolls along the canal or through the forest or around the villages. Going for a wander on your own isn't the same thing.

Get yourself a dog! (Preferably a 'Rescue').
Man's best friend, and you meet lots of people, walking.

Tennis, golf, football coaching during the season, Thursdays out with me mates down the local, Fridays out with the wife, bit of cooking, bit of gardening, nice long walks, painting, time with the grandkids, long holidays, short breaks, reading, listening to music, the races, Test Cricket.

Weekends I rest or if desperate watch the Baggies .
