Cortonwood is in Rotherham. The irony of your post roma is that barnsley mbc objected to the building of the cortonwood retail park (which is in Rotherham and generates a lot of revenue for the Rotherham borough).

Am I the only one old enough to remember the days when going from Rotherham to Barnsley you had to change bus at the bottom of Cortonwood as you went 'over the border' into Burrough's bus territory

Not disputing that Lol, all I know as a fact is that since 1974, cortonwood has been in Rotherham. The reference to cortonwood was relating to the miners strike, not to football allegiance and I made it as a way of showing that the strike was not a barnsley issue.

We've done almost everything under our own steam , rebuilt the ground , academy , training area and indoor complex , all paid for out of producing players to sell or PL revenue .

At this moment in time we owe nothing to anyone although we have to accept league one football as a consequence .

Our record transfer fee is higher , our record transfer fee received is higher , we tend to command bigger gates if marginally , we've sold over 9k ST's this season despite a hundred quid price raise and a division lower .

Whilst we had a guy in Patrick Cryne who plugged the financial holes to the tune of £9m that kept us in the championship you have had £33m spent on you without attaining championship status for any real length of time .

These are facts that are indisputable , we've had a helping hand and had to pay our former owner back plus a sizeable return on his investment and you've had a sugar daddy .

I sincerely hope he doesn't call for his money back and reveal the true place of RUFC in the football world today .

I like RUFC as a club and find the majority of its support down to earth and very knowledgeable .

Please don't do the we are the better club game because unfortunately I didn't write the history of our two clubs which is hardly condescending they are just plain facts .
Sugar Daddy ?????. I think a few people on this thread ought to have a closer look into the so called £35 million investment by our saviour Mr Stewart. As much as I admire the guy he has NOT put £35 million into our club in spite of what he lets people assume.

Mr Stewart doesn't have that kind of money, although he has a good business it would not support the kind of investment we are led to believe.

Mr Stewart is a great businessman and he has helped (along with others) to keep our club afloat but great businessmen do not throw money into small clubs, get real

Probably the European regeneration grants for the site etc means that TS didn't front all the money for the stadium. Thing is, he will have funded the majority of it.

Seem to recall someone once breaking all of this down. Anyone recall this? Either way without TS we would have possibly gone under so Animal has a slight point but to call TS a sugar daddy is a tad childish.

NB. Reading animal's username, look at it backwards, 3 little animal. Does this remind you of 3 little pigs could he really be an oink on the piss take?

The 3 bit in Animals name is because of a ban I think on the Millwall board Brin.

The £20m for the stadium is a mortgage for which he's the guarantor.

What is the overall deficite i.e. actual money hes put into the club? He has restructured the club to such an extent that it isn't showing massive losses. The main losses have been covered by sponsorship from his companies and that of loans that are repayable.

I have a simular view to Roscoe regarding the monies TS has spent. R U Holdings will be to the value of a stadium when the mortgage is paid off. This will be the interesting point in the future of Rotherham United. At this time we could end up with Rotheham United paying rent to R U Holdings. Time will tell but I'd hate us to be in that situation.
