    Almost full-strength....according to Chris Boden.

Neither could I. I'll be going to my 9th pre-season game tomorrow, but none involving the Clarets. I used to go to all the local ones, Accy, Blackpool, Rochdale, Oldham, Bury, Preston, Altrincham etc. there were new players to see, new formations, and occasionally a decent game, they're nothing but meaningless training exercises now and, especially this summer, involving the same old faces.

Is Barnes injured as well as Ward, Lennon & Wood? All the others who played against Aberdeen were unused subs. The sub goalie was McMahon (U23s).

Edit: Sorry, didn't realise Gudmundsson was not on bench.

There were 12 named as subs without the three injured players you mentioned so that was more than enough anyway.
Barnes is also just returning from injury and had a good run out on Thursday so no real need for him or Gudmundsson to be in the squad.

Thanks Lancy, I hope they didn’t think we were taking the proverbial. Not a bad result then. Pity no reserve striker could score.

I always thought the two Sunday friendlies sandwiched between the Aberdeen games were a daft idea anyway, unless we really wanted to give the reserves a run out!
