It’s all relative I suppose, I know some will always go for the biggest financial offer, but others might consider location and the club. Let’s face it, Middlesbrough upon ICI is a real ****hole to work and bring up a family. They don’t call the the Smoggies for nowt.
I had the opportunity to move jobs for considerabley more money on a couple of occasions back in the early 1990’s, but I didn’t take either offer because I didn’t fancy moving my family which was part of the deal in both cases. It might have been the wrong decision who knows, and it certainly wasn’t 10k a week, more like 10k a year, but like I said, everything is relative. If you’re already on hundreds of thousands a year, you might be in a financial position to consider the club’s location and set up as well as the cash like Brayford did.
I agree though, most players chase the £ and thst seems to be their driving force, not where they play and who they play for.
