Whilst were in 60s mode , does anyone remember a local band named " The Thunderbirds" ? Reason I ask is that I believe the drummer who's surname I imagine must have been Bates ( he used to do a solo spot sang in high falsetto voice) because I was mates with his brother Alan who I have lost touch years ago , Ive managed to track down other " gang members" but no-one knows what happened to Alan

There was a band called Johnnie Silver and the Thunderbirds had a bloke called Roy Ledger with them but don't know the others if it's the same lot.

Not much Lincs but I have found Thunderbirds members as Ernie Booth bass - his son lived in Sheffield in 2005 - Roy Ledger lead guitar and Johnny Silver and a Clive somebody who were band members and both came over from America for a reunion in 2005.

Monty, the name Clive really does sound familiar, did you get the surname by any chance?

No, sorry, Lincs. It just said Clive and Johnny Silver are coming over from America for a band reunion.

Anybody know exactly where the "Columba Hall" was? Was it demolished to make way for the dual carriageway? Was it the building that latterly became a carpet warehouse, and burned down in 2012 (now also completely demolished)?

Mike if I remember right it was next door to the Carter's rest pub which was 32 College Road so it would be the building shown here next to the pub which is being demolished.

I wondered what the street name of the Rebori place was. Thanks. Apparently they originally used a horse drawn van and the horses were called Peace and Victory. I must have walked past Chemist Lane dozens of time but never remembered the name. I must try and find an old map showing it.
