Suspect Boyd's not as daft as many think.

I think he fancies a career in the media when he stops playing and is trying the journalist's trick of ramping up his reputation as "controversial" so people will call for his opinions. And it's working. Being disliked and despised by at least half your viewers/listeners/readers is part of the formula.

None of which prevents him from being a class A arsehole, but people who rise to the bait by giving a **** about his various pronouncements are just falling into the trap.

Seems to be the way of it now. I liked Paul Hartley. He was just black and white, no controversial pish for the sake of it.
