I thought you said finishing 2nd wasn’t a big deal

Only joking min,you are right I’m delighted for Cosgrove as well. I hope he proves a lot of us wrong and kicks on from here.

Gleeson owes me a £140 quid. Me and my pal both had a 4-0 dons win down. Sammy Cosgrove netted me 2.5k at G though so I will let this one slide.

Lowe reminds me of Logan when he first joined, only on the other side of the pitch. Shinnie had a belter, GMS is showing no signs of dropping form and the only sour note of today was McLennan going off with a nasty looking injury. He looks like a decent player.

Home now and away to catch up on last nights Circle, life is good.

Would have taken 4-1 at the start of today especially when I thought St Mirren would have improved on last time. Reality was they are still just as bad so the result needs to be slightly tempered by that. Just a shame that we couldn't have done a bit better in second half and added to goal difference.

McLennan looks a real prospect, just a shame he picked up what looked like a potentially bad injury. Memo to Derek - remember the last time you were forced into playing an untried youngster and McKenna has never looked back, please give the youngsters more of a chance - what was the point in bringing on Forrester and Gleeson when the game was won when we have Campbell on the bench???

Would need to see it again but looks like we were denied another stonewaller when Shinnie was pulled back in the box - how many is that now?

So overall I go home happy but without being accused of being a negative nelly, last time we put 4 past StM we followed up with 4 goals in 6 games, winning only one of them. So let's not get too carried away by beating a woeful team heading straight back to the Championship. Now if we win our next two games, then we can talk about better times ahead but until then.....

St Mirren. As the song goes, "Can we play you every week?"

Must confess when I heard the starting line up I thought WTF? After a turgid first 25 minutes we started scoring and it became quite enjoyable.

McLennan played on the left in place of McGinn. Impressed with the lad.

Only sour note for me was Gleeson and Forrester. They are both pants and can leave any time they want.

Did anyone else note that horrible high-pitched whine from the PA in the Mainer? Went on all game. Did my head in.

For the Shinnie incident, i'd say it should have been a free-kick not a penalty. The pulling starts outside the box, and continues into the box and definitely impedes upon the shot Shinnie takes. Of course the ref gives nothing however which is just nonsense!

Ok, thanks. I'm in the RDS so I could see it was a foul but not if it started outside the box

Aye he was grabbing at him for like 20 yards! Was ridiculous that we got nothing! Could have been a free-kick or a penalty in honesty but for the ref to give nothing was just bizarre.

Last 20 minutes of the first half great, rest of the game a bit meh. In the first half, 3 players scored their first competitive goal for AFC, I would lay good odds that has not happened before (maybe in season 1903).

McLennan looked great, Ball and Lowe were immense.

Forrester and Gleeson still look ****e though.

Wasn't really sure where the goals were going to come from when I saw the starting 11, but happy to be proven wrong!

Good all round performance, albeit against a very poor team. We looked better down the left with Lowe and McLennan than we have done most of the season with Considine and McGinn. I hope that when McKenna returns we'll keep Lowe at left back. Pleased for big Sam getting a couple of goals - the first was very well taken, the second was a mistake from the keeper really.

I was a bit disappointed with the subs though. McLennan going off would've been a good opportunity to give the lad Ross a chance in his natural position considering the game was already won. Instead we got Forrester who did nothing but provide further evidence that he's got zero to offer. I'd also have preferred to have seen Anderson on alongside Cosgrove rather than on instead of him. Also didn't see the point in bringing Gleeson on as the game was won and it would've been more worthwhile giving Campbell some minutes. Gleeson again offered little - the only thing he really did of note was gift St Mirren a goal with very slack play.

I think we learnt again today that we have some young players ready to step up and hungry to take their chance - McKenna, Campbell, McLennan, Ross, Anderson, Ferguson and Wright will all do a job for us, and Lowe and Cosgrove are still very young too. I don't think it would be wise to play them all at the same time, but they're definitely worth more game time than the likes of Gleeson, Forrester and May for example.

St Midden have shown on two trip to us this season that they are by far and away the poorest team we have faced for a long long time and we are not likely to come up against that sort of sheer sh1te very often this season.
I'm chuffed with a 4-1 win for sure I am, but we are still miles short of where we need to be, and its very concerning, Gleeson's pass for the St Mirren goal was seriously something from a sunday pub league game. Donkey's second goal was a sclaff that any half decent keeper should be stopping very easily every day of the week, that was a howler.
Donkeys first goal was a cracker I'll give that as well as great cross from Logan. Mclennan's was also a belter (well done loon) Lowe's was just a comedy of errors with the ball bopping about in the box like it was pinball machine. So lets not get carried away as St Midden are utter mince.
Great three points and great to be heading into the international break on the back of a very much need win.
Jambos are next up after the break, that will be a different kettle of fish all together, lets see how we get on then.
