So, my point Is, not everyone agrees with a boycott.
I know what you mean...and I'm boycotting precisely because it is an opportunity to show how we feel. I disagree, though, that it means folk aren't against Ashley's running of the club. To me, a lot of them are just of the opinion that it's not the way to go about supporting the club. And I'm fine with them having that opinion...I just think they're wrong.
Mmm.
To me it feels a bit like a day off work. Making a point.
I'm long gone giving a **** what people think. I plough my own field.
Thing is Stan WE would have sold the vast majority of them a year or two ago especially for a Saturday 3pm KO. There were 3200+ seats not taken up today.
When handing leaflets out today in the pub fans didn’t say anything in particular. There is clear support for anti Ashley stuff but I sensed that many won’t boycott so I suggested if they don’t want to miss the full game go in on 11 mins for 2 games West Ham AND Wolves and that was accepted as a possibility. Some said that any boycott should be later in the season due to our situation at present.
I used to go with 5 Stanley lads (including me). All of us season tickets.
None now., apart from me. Because of Ashley.
Them lads made a stance about 6/7 years ago. They were right on the button, that they will never go back while Ashley remains the owner.
But have the Stanley 4 made a difference.
I guess not.
They have made a difference Stan. They made a consciencious decision and have stuck by it whether there was a chance of success or not. They are being honest to themselves.
I'll bet they can't wait for the day when the fat wonker goes and those lads can really enjoy their match again.
It's that defeatist attitude that ruins things like boycotts. It is one game that's one game out of every fans life I honestly don't see why one person in that stadium still wants to go the way the Club is being run into the ground. And if they do that's fine but don't have a go at the people who actually have the ar5e to try and make a difference. The same defeatist attitude lingers across our country though not just this situation. Year on year we get bummed by the tax man we get bummed from our governments. In a really bad way I may add but we just look at is like the neighbour you talk about and take it on the chin. It's just the way the country works now. We have slowly been brainwashed into being defeatist as lower class citizens and just accepting everything the rich and upperclass throw at us. We cannot do that in this situation. We need to make a stance and a strong one at that. But it needs to be done as a majority thing imo and the way things are looking unfortunately things may turn sour with our own fans divided. All because of the FCB.
I still think the best way is to not give him your money for tickets Inthe first place
