That was absolutely dire. It was every bit as bad as the performance at home to Yeovil, but fortunately Fitz has stopped gifting goals and Oldham were extremely wasteful. No semblance of any shape or gameplan, just piss around with a few passes at the back then boot it forward to a small striker who barely had a kick. I had to check the dugout to make sure we hadn't reappointed McParland. The Oldham players and fans must be scratching their heads wondering how they only got the same points as us. We are in big trouble.

Couldn't agree more EP Oldham should ask the police to investigate daylight ( or floodlight) robbery, thank god for Fitz.

Pretty much came in to say this. Kewell may take the positive of a clean sheet, but a clean sheet doesn’t mean we defended well as he claimed. Oldham had 19 shots tonight, but for some great saves from Fitzsimons - gone from our worst player to our best in two months - some wasteful finishing and some outright bad luck for Oldham, that could and should’ve been 5 or 6-0. It was worse than Yeovil, who to be fair on the night were excellent. Oldham are at best an average team who battered us.

There’s talk every Kewell press conference of ‘his’ way of playing; I don’t see it. It’s not that it’s not working - I don’t even see what he’s attempting. He’s been brought into play this attacking style, but he’s taking off our only striker for a centre back and putting Shaun Brisley in midfield. Four centre backs ending up on the pitch again.

And that’s before we even get onto the bench packed full of kids and defenders again; what’s the benefit in ostracising the likes of Kellett, Patching, Husin, Vaughan. And Jones? In a different league to Evina, but doesn’t get a look in as not one of ‘his’ players. Kewell came in professing his love for improving players; the vast majority have got worse under him - the only one to improve is the keeper! Say what you like about how it ended under Nolan but in the first instance the likes of Tootle, Duffy, Hewitt and O’Connor were light years better than what we’d seen before.

In all honesty we’re going backwards. I don’t know what he’s trying to achieve - other than piss off the dressing room and piss off the supporters. Every decision seems to be made with either a political motive - highlight a perceived lack of options - or to humiliate a player. How else could you explain that sub today, or the bench the past two games.

I worry about the damage he could do in January and really think we’ll struggle to survive with him at the helm. Hardy has dropped an almighty clanger here. Above all I’m gutted that the team that finished 5th last season has been completely descimated in six months.

Totally agree, he has not got a clue.
