Suffice it to say I’ll take the OED definitions over your agenda driven ones every time. If a word or term is referenced there then that’s good enough for me and as it happens, all three of the ones you dispute are to be found there.

I’ve actually never felt unable to offer criticism of any religion. I guess it would be unwise to challenge Islam at a Jihadist convention but then I’d be equally loath to question the Pope’s wisdom in a pub on the Falls Road or walk down the Shankhill wearing a Celtic shirt.

I doubt the blasphemy laws will be reintroduced, although it seems worth pointing out that they did come close recently...in that hot bed of Islam - the Irish Republic - when Stephen Fry had the audacity to refer to a ‘mean spirited and stupid god’ a year or so ago.

God save us all from extremists of all persuasions.
If you're going to quote a pretentious bloated stuffed shirt like Stephen Fry, stick to his dry humour in Blackadder.

Steven Fry's slating of the God fiction is one quote of his that I really like.

Lol! It’s already got an estimated 1.8 billion followers (about 24% of the World’s population)...how many do you think it needs exactly?
I'm talking about Muslim populations in areas RA.
Of course Muslim countries are rammed full of Muslims? Please tell me exactly what code of law/government they follow?
When Muslims resettle, the same tide of events begins.
    1. Move in- silence 1 - 2 %
    2. Communities grow, they look for acceptance and want you to love their culture 2- 8 % Happy to work within the law and regulations.
    3. Population / area in access of 10% - problems start.
They demand their own rights and the call for Sharia begins.
Law and order is difficult, as the respect for it is not there. France/Sweden are your yard sticks.

I was jesting. Stephen Fry was a close friend of the late great Christopher Hitchins. That's something I'm sure he's proud of.

The smiley face was the giveaway and I got it. No dig intended just agreeing with the Fry man.

As you said at the start...’Islamophobia does exist’...and appears to be alive and well and living in Nottingham.

.... and based on current fact rather than 2000 year old bankrupt ideology.

It appears there may not be any no go areas for UK police........ yet, but there are in some French cities, Swedish cities and even in Brussels.

I’m sure you’re right MA but then, tbh...there are areas of Derby that I’d consider ‘no go’, and that has nothing to do with Islam.
Come to that there are areas of most British and U.S. cities where black or Asian faces are made explicitly unwelcome. Fine lines and all that.

Derby aren’t a lost cause Geoff! It was only one bad defeat...not sure what else you’re referring to.
