Two more players that look the part now Acido. They just needed a chance mate.

Definitely Ponty, and I think that applied to Steve Mallan as well. Although the jury will be forever 'out' on him now, as we won't get to know any different.
Apparently Mowatt didn't impress at Oxford and maybe he was feeling a bit sorry for himself there at a struggling Lg One club, who knows. But Im glad that Stendel gave ALL of the squad a look in the summer, and Mowatt is obviously impressing now in performances and Im guessing his attitude as well.

I think the criticical stuff aimed at Mowatt is very unfair actually, I always thought he was a good signing for us at the time and had a tonne of potential, and sadly he failed to live up to that to begin with admittedly. But this is not a 'love in' just because some of us want to give him credit now, and absolutely nobody on here in their right minds is even trying to suggest hes going to be another 'Glavin' or 'Banks' or 'Redfearn' or 'Hignett' etc!.

He'll get better when he gains in confidence and gets that swagger he had at Leeds. I'd say he's operating at 60 % right now and if plays how he can we'll have some player. He's a goal scoring midfielder supporting strikers by trade. The fact he mucks in and has an ugly side is just another string to his bow n' probably a weekness. Would like to see him 10 yrds further forward but I'm very happy.

The last time we were in the Third Division at this time of the season in late 2015 I was still drying out from gerrin p1ss wet through after standing on the open terrace at Altrincham as we lost 1-0 in the FA Cup during a run of eight straight defeats under pillaker Little Lee.
The shrewd Patrick Cryne (wait forrit ) had the wisdom to appoint Paul Heckingbottom ( wait forrit ) after Lee decided to p1ss off to Bristol and the rest is history. Like today all we were doing was beating Third Division sides with their generally inferior players but the move up through the league and gerrin into the Play Offs with a magnificent 4-1 win at the Champions was much more exciting than finding out on the way home in mid April that because so and so ed lost we were now promoted.
The two Wembley wins will stay in the memory, finding art we were technically now up as you walk away from the ground comes a poor second.
Give me 2016 anytime than grinding out 1-0's at ooam in October/November.
Aye it was a real fecker finding out Reading had scored two goals in the last 5 minutes to beat Wolves after we'd thumped Charlton 4-0 in 97 to open up a five point lead with 5 games to go .

Gutted I was that we looked like getting automatic promotion .

The best teams go up on merit over 46 games. That's your Champions n" Runners up. Play-offs is a lottery just because we won twice doesn't make em' great I wasn't at Wembley in 2000 but I'd trade the Millenium Stadium, Liverpool away n' Chelsea at home in 2008 and JPt and play-off 2016 for a different outcome in a heart beat.

Was 15 years old and to this day that's right up there with sh1ttest days of my life.

Hey, 'Confidence' is huge isn't it for players, and I think it applies more to the attack minded game winning players in a team.
For me its not rocket science, if you want the best out of any player, then youve got to play them regularly.
Ive never liked or agreed with the so called squad rotation system (or whatever anybody wants to call it), and I did actually want us to keep the same first team squad for all of the recent 'lesser' cup games. A winning mentality and that word confidence surely go together don't they.

Shocking day steve , the build up and before the game was brilliant mate and walking up wembley way was a dream come true .

Ask me about walking down wembley way afterwards ?

Absolutely gutted because I knew our golden period was over .

The very worst place to lose a football game in my opinion , horrible feeling .
