Probably right norder,
Just a thought maybe Dyche is pushing for the club to get rid of him, based on the fact he signed a contract extension and then realised they aren't going to back him.
I've also thought that it's a player revolt and they are pushing to get rid of him ( it shouldn't happen i know - but we all know it does ).
As you say something is definitely not right.
you would think - Army....that he'd want to leave before being pushed - or even if felt wasn't going to be pushed - and we don't get the much needed reinforcements in the winter window....then would want to leave anyway...but then if play continues as is...it wont be too long after - that we'd want a new face to try and bail us out - so unless we improve enough to stay up - I don't see any reason that Dyche should still be with us by the end of this season.
As for the players - I'd say yesterday was about as bootless as it could get - we're playing our third season in the PL, at the highest level of english football - with our players earning tens of thousands a week - are they happy to put in such an abject performance ?.....cos that took some unnatural effort - imo.

It is so far away from being believable that you start to look for some kind of logic or reason.
So giving it some lateral thought is this what's going on?
1. Finishing 7th last year made the board very complacent and so that's why very little was done in the transfer market.
Why spend millions when it wasn't necessary?
2. The Euro venture was not considered at all important to worry about boosting playing stocks (and paying millions as a result).
3. A move towards greater focus on our own youth development and bettering our scouting system (perhaps).
4.We all get that SD has failed this season to inspire the team as previously. He has also failed tactically and failed to support the new players he brought in and failed to add new blood from the Development squad. None of those actions make any sense at all and I have no idea why unless its all part of the Relegation commitment.
5. Maybe the big picture is that our present set up is not sustainable for the Prem and that no more money is to be used to keep a broken ship from sinking. Better to get that over with quickly then rebuild without pressure.
6. Once down maybe SD and the Board will part company the following year saving undue focus and negativity. They all feel SD deserves that.
7. We will do a Bournemouth; clever buying and loanees but we need a good manager moving forward.
Of course all of this suggests a plan. A rationale.
The worst case is that there is no plan at all
I'm beginning to think norder that it might actually the opposite, the players now know something we do. That the board is not going to go out on a limb to keep us in the PL, they're quite relaxed about relegation, as long as the bank balance remains in a healthy state. And this mentality has permeated through to the players, they've realised that they're playing for a club that doesn't really care if it gets relegated, so why should they care ? It might only be a subconcious thing, they've not deliberately become non triers, but instead of giving 100% for the club it's dropped away to 95%, does it really matter that much to them any more, why should it if it doesn't matter to the board ? And I would think this mentality must inevitably have permeated through to the management team as well.
A fish rots from the head, and that's the problem at Turf Moor imo.
You lot have been spoiled by a little success and Euro league. Dyche may have let that Good enough to manage England talk go to his head.
You waiting for Harry Redknap to come out of the Jungle.
All i can say is.........
