I truthfully still don't know what a Leave vote is.

Can anyone really know what every one of the 17m people voted for..the government don't and that's what the issue is.

Did they vote for a no deal, which would cause great economic self harm after being told it would be easy to strike a deal.
Did they vote for a Norway style deal (heavily backed by Farage) which would give us less control over our borders because they are in Schengen.
Did they vote for May's deal - probably not because of how unpopular it is.

Perhaps many voted leave for a combination of all of the above. And as a result there is no clear mandate for what type of leaving the EU the UK government should implement.

That's not the fault of the Leave voters, that's the fault of the way the referendum was handled and is prominently the answer to the question of this thread. The worst PM in my lifetime is David Cameron, for allowing Tory infighting to fester to such an extent it has left us in this state of limbo and uncertainty for the best part of 3 years.

And that is why we need another vote.

We have already had the "In Out' vote.. In lost Out won.

If we do have another vote it should only be only about whether we accept what's on offer or leave without a deal

Would you say voters are better informed now about what they are voting for than they were in 2016?

Can't understand why all options, including remain, wouldn't be available to them...

To be honest, I believe that the population is now more confused and not better informed. At least when the referendum was held in 2016 it was a straight option of IN or OUT.

Which is why we are where we are and parliament can't agree which direction to take us.

    In is straightforward,

Out could be anything...no deal, Norway deal, May's Deal.....

It really needs to be clarified.

The continuing Brexit shambles is unacceptable, ideally, there should be a free vote for MPs on whether to drop Brexit altogether on the basis that it is undeliverable and as there is a majority of ‘Remain’ MPs in Parliament, they should vote for the best option for the country, i.e. withdraw Article 50. Failing that, there should be another referendum with a straight choice, Remain or leave on WTO rules; hopefully common sense would prevail......!

    Quick question to all.

If there were to be a second referendum would any of you change your mind and vote the 'other' way to how you did previously? I'm not asking which way people voted and I'm not asking anyone to justify their position either then or now. So would you?

I'll start the ball rolling, no I wouldn't.

    An interesting question 68.

I’ll be totally honest as a well known “Leaver”.

When I voted leave I had no idea that the government and civil service would be so woefully inept and that the process of leaving would be handled with morons with no nous or negotiating skills and that treaties had been created without a reversal strategy and the penalties that any normal businessman would expect in a deal that was being pulled out of!

It’s symptomatic of the political elite that their heads are so far up their own rectums that they haven’t a clue how to actually structure
    a contract.

Having seen the chaos I have contemplated reversing my decision should a second vote take place.

Then......thankfully.....people like WBA123 come along with their cut and pasting and telling me what a fool I am and I resolve to keep my vote as it was.

If it wasn’t for these know all’s and their righteous indignance and I’d been left to my own devices I would very likely changed my mind by now but I’ve now reached an entrenched position due to the “remoaner” bombardment and the BBC and Channel 4 bias.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows my affiliation.

Since 2016 though, I've become even more of a 'Remainer' purely through watching our government and parliament lurch from one disaster to another and because of the misleading pre-referendum rhetoric

I still believe we are blaming the EU for a lot of our own Governments flaws.

We are a very stubborn nation though and its hard for anyone to say after the event....'I was wrong to vote that way'

And that's the same whether you voted Leave or Remain...
