    I don't know if any oad pies can verify this, but I remember my Dad telling me that when he used to go ML as a youth, the man on the turnstile would check your hands in order to see if you should be charged half or full price. If your hands were smooth, you weren't of working age and went in cheaper, but if your hands were rough, you were clearly working and so should pay as an adult. I guess that must have been back in the 60s.
