    Chris Brunt.

Isn't it about time that fans laid off him and got behind him for all that he has given to this club over the years. Yes, it was his mistake that led to Borough's leveller on Saturday and possibly it wasn't the right decision to bring him on, but who hasn't made a bad mistake? I can't remember him making too many really bad errors in his time with us.

I realise that he is at the back end of his career and that he is not an automatic first choice but the lad has given his all for this club. He has played wherever asked and it's not his fault that he has had to play in positions that he is not best suited to. He's done it without complaint and with the best interests of the club at heart. Let's not forget that he's done a pretty good job for us over the years and has been an integral part of any success that we have achieved. He has been a credit to our club and deserves our support and not our ire. When he does eventually leave we should be thankful to him and be remembered with appreciation and affection.

    Completely agree.

He's always grafted for us and he can whip a ball in with his left peg like no other.

As you say he has started to decline, which is natural with age. But his record for us speak volumes, 400 appearances, 11 full seasons with us - 9 of them spent in the Prem. 47 goals and God knows how many assists. He was a big part of why we've spent the majority of the last decade in the premiership.

He's been a real credit to us, and he'll be rightly remembered as such when he retires.

The “Wand” remains one of my all time favourite players.

A legend not deserving of abuse.

Yes he can whip a ball in 123 , but 6 times out of ten he'll hits the first defender or kicks it over everyones head or blasts a free kick high into the brummy , occasionally he will get it right by the amount of kicks he takes , & as for keeping off his back , if you want to be successful you move players on & move forward not keep them for sentimental value, YES he's been a good servant but he's earned a great living from West Bromwich Albion F C alot more than people who post on here earn nothing last for ever ,

    Totally agree Mick.....
Always admired his contribution over the years...especially after been hit by a coin from someone pretending to support Albion, in that defeat a few years ago at....I think it was Reading..
A sound lad from the North....

All these goals we've scored from his free kicks and corners, who is to say we wouldn't have scored more if someone else had been taking them? There have been far more bad ones than good ones.
Loyal servant? No other club has ever come in for him. Of course he will remain loyal. It's that or get a proper job.
Over the years the fans have got on his back more than any other player I can remember. Not just on forums but at the games. There is a reason for this.
He lacks pace and is pretty poor in the tackle.
He picks the mud off the bottom of his boots a lot.
He can hit a ball very hard and has scored a few cracking goals and a couple of important ones.
The penalty he missed at Villa Park was the poorest penalty I ever remember seeing. Perhaps he realised I was sat in the Witton Road surrounded by villa fans. We went on to win anyway and I survived.
He scored 2 late penalties v Liverpool to win us the match.
Most of our managers over the last ten years have regularly selected him.
We have had some poor managers over the last ten years.

Echo these comments Johnny. No player should get abuse or booed whilst wearing the shirt and yes Brunt has been a great servant. That said, on around 40/50 grand a week he's made a fantastic living out of WBAFC but sadly, there's no sentiment in football. Brunt is still a decent squad player but there are much better options now for the first 11 than him. It was sentiment that saw him come on the field on Saturday, and to be fair, it was not the right choice.

Harper and Field are the future! As players earn more in one week than what most people earn in one year, all proceeds from any testimonial should be a requirement to be passed on to fantastic charities like Cancer Research or Acorns. I know decent players do this anyway, but could never go to a testimonial if a player did not give all the proceeds away.

Whilst, I was no fan of McClean, I did admire the fact he gave a load of money away to the needy - regularly!

PS - what did Peace do for the minority shareholders? There you have it.............
