    Rakeem Harper

Any news on him signing a new contract or is his agent hoping another club will come in for him.

More likely waiting to see what league we will be in. Which will push his wages up

This a great concern to me, as we shouldn't have left it so late, a clause can easily be put in his contract to increase his wages if we get promoted, but the great fear is that he will be poached like the other rats like Brown and co.

I read this a lot but we haven't left it late BB, we've been in negotiations with Rekeem and his agent for ages. It's their decision not to sign at this moment in time as opposed to our decision to leave things late. We can't make him sign.

I've no idea what he's been offered by us but I would imagine he's got more than a few suitors waiting in the wings. That's what it comes down to unfortunately, we've go to hurry up and wait because frustrating though it is there's absolutely nothing else we can do.

You're most welcome sir, hurrying up and waiting happened on a frequent basis when I was in the army.

Re. smart sayings, 68, a mate told me last night in the pub that when he worked for a boss who doubted his efficiency and ability he said to him, "Unfortunately you are forgotten but not gone". And that he had "Risen without trace." I think the latter was pinched from Churchill about some other politician but they both made made me smile.
