Quite right Outwood, there is no such thing as 'Islamophobia'. A phobia is an irrational fear of something, there is nothing irrational about being at the very least concerned about certain aspects of Islam, the propensity for some of it's adherents to throw gays off high buildings, to create caliphates where infidels are beheaded, to destroy the state of Israel and every Jewish person on the planet, to attack and burn down Christian Churches, and the Christians inside if they can manage that as well, throughout the Middle East. There's plenty more, I could go on all night.
On a more local level, having been privy to the inside political workings of the Muslim community in Burnley over many years, I can guarantee that the animosity, even hatred, between the two different factions of the muslim community was more intense than anything displayed by a handful of Tories. But none of this fits the PC Brigade's narrative and is swept under the carpet.

I am more concerned BT about how pupils are treated in Islamic schools and what their curriculum is. This is where the next generation of jihadis will emerge.

The dye is cast the future is Islam; its all about numbers and the commitment to a belief system that has conquered one way or another for 1400 years. Its becoming Islamophobic to now even debate Islam and it's beliefs. You can now even be suspended from UCLAN for answering wrong in class to the loaded question "Is Halal meats spread a sign of islamisation" of Britain. If your answer is yes on the basis of animal rights re slaughtering method then you are a bigoted Islamophobe whose views are not in keeping with the values of tolerance! This is now where we are; goodbye freedom and free speech.

Genuine question...if you feel that you are unable to discuss islamic beliefs in our country, if you think that the future of the UK is islam and if you don't like islamists, then why don't you simply bugger off to a white christian country?

I well remember when I was at school in the 50's and 60's the way we were taught what a brilliant country we had in when we had our empire. We were supposed to be proud of the way that we invaded and took over many countries round the globe. The white mans natural position was a supremacist.

Of course, I took it all in and believed it - until I came to my senses in my 20's. Sadly, many of my peer group still believe that white British men are superior to anyone else.

The world has changed, Britain has changed, and I believe it is a much better place today than it used to be. I recall in those days that women were treated as second class citizens. Being a practicing gay was illegal. Foreigners were openly abused both in public and in the media. There was plenty of REAL poverty. Our country was filthy mess. The class system was much worse than today.

If you want to return to those days then that is your choice - I am happier living in the 21st century thank you very much.

There is no place for racism in our society today, whether it is racism against Jews, blacks, white or any other race or creed. If you disagree then I am calling you a racist.

The three million adherents living in the UK who devotedly respect the Five Pillars of Islam, which are obligatory acts of worship and follow Islamic Sharia law, which touches on virtually every aspect of life and society, from banking and welfare to women and the environment seems totally at odds to me with a country built on the Judeo-Christian values of the Torah.

Take your head out of the Lib/Dem inspired drivel clouds 1959_60, we have given ourselves a huge problem. The cities of Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem are home to the three holiest sites in Islam and this gives Western values and civilisation a very divisive global political problem.

Issues such as Israel/Palestine, Iran/Israel, US interventions, nuclear war possibilities, domestic terrorism in the UK (remember Manchester?), Asian grooming gangs, Muslim anti-Semitism on a scale which makes the Labour Party look positively saintly, discuss Asian criminal gangs and the PC snowflakes charge you with being a "Racist" for having the audacity and temerity to debate the problem.

The moderate, peaceful Muslims of which there are many, the Imams, the UK's Muslim leaders and politicians need to denounce the [B]criminal activities of the Muslim community and IMHO the two thousand Mosques operating on British soil need constant surveillance. We have a real threat from within our nation inspired by a medieval and backward religion and I am anything but the "racist" you suggest all middle aged white men are.
