Remember what I said pre season

I said I thought he was a poor choice and predicted that he’d be gone by Xmas and that a much loved Albion character would leave the club with a bitter taste in his mouth and it’d leave fans upset.

Okay,I was wrong by three months but this was always likely to end badly.

In life we all should live by our limitations and if Darren had been wise he’d have realised he had a job in the back room for life.

Not many people are cabable of leading an organisation including players, coaches, support staff and dealing with the media.

Truth is you need to be a b a s t a r d to do it well and he was just too nice and not commanding enough,he also lacked verbal dexterity and impact.

I’m sad for him but not remotely surprised.

Do you remember what I said when were still in the Premiership?

That we were going to struggle to keep out from the relegation zone? 😎

I remember what you said about out by November, but I also remember you saying we must keep pardew for years to come after the flash in the pan win at Liverpool in the cup.

A good bloke has lost his job, yet still you hammer him for his oratory skills.

Most managers, the ones that can be bothered to learn English, talk the way he does, he never had the education of a Martin O'Neil, he threw his players under the bus and he always gave us 100% on and off the pitch and he didn't deserve the constant thick comments aimed at him.

Fact is he had all the coaching badges he needed to be our manager, but not the experience.

Thanks for your efforts DM and all the best for the future big man.

Don’t disagree Blood but inexperience is one thing but sheer stubbornness not to listen to your audience is another thing. Three at back - playing out from the back - 4-3-3 - Gayle on the wing - subs - selections - Bartley!!!! Come on - Leeds and Norwich are where they are for a reason!!!! Any idiot with our squad could achieve 4th in a poor league!

No sympathy after going to Leeds and then today and as you pointed out - relegation form since Boxing Day.

The moral of the story is - there was a lovely young girl who used to work for me - pretty - sweet - loved by suppliers. Sadly feckin useless so she had to go!!! It’s a tough old world!

I do wish him well though

You’re an intelligent man BB and you know full well that if you’re a leader of an organisation you need more than the exam passes and to be a great bloke!

You need to be able to inspire and control a massive operation.

Can you honestly say that you were not exasperated at his team selection and subs and the overplaying from the back?

Having met you in person I think you’re far too passionate and vocal not to have been shouting “FFS” on multiple occasions this season?

I remember the comment I made about Pardew after the Liverpool match and I’ll agree that I was wrong about him but after watching the sea of s h I t I’d been watching under Pulis I was grateful to see us at least trying to play decent football!

You can throw me under the bus for that one if you wish,it’s clear you have a photographic memory for posters previous comments.

I don’t possess that ability so my ability to pick you up on any previous comments by you which have proved in hindsight to be wrong leaves you with a free pass.

If you read other posts I’ve made about DM I have said that I think he’s a good bloke and it’s a shame it’s ended but that he never struck me or others as a “Manager” and I stick by that.

Regardless of opinions on this we need a new boss so who is your choice?

I think you overestimate our squad Al.

Many said last season it was our best squad and the same again this season.

Any squad with mozza, brunt, Delivermore, Bartley and Robson kanu cannot ever be classed as the best anything.

The constance awarding of contracts to "club legends" like brunt and mozza is symbolic of everything that is wrong with the Albion at present imo. The players like some fans think we are better than we are.

We lack pace and energy all over the pitch and we try to penny pinch whenever we can by awarding those aforementioned contracts instead of having younger replacements lined up and giving deals to journeyman nobodies like mears and hoolahan when we refuse to stump up the money for a Tavernier or a Woods.

I don't believe for one second DM woke up one morning and said f uck those two I'll save the club some dough and get mears and hoolahan for fooook all.

He was given a fraction of the money compared to sjoke who finished higher than us last season they only lost Shaquiri from what they had in the prem, yet we lost stalwarts like Foster, Evans and Gmac.

Despite this some class this short term contracts and loan players comprised squad as the best squad in the division?

Yeah, right, I said at the start of the season ideally I wanted someone with at least 2 promotions under their belt and I stand by that but I also said I thought we'd be lucky to make the plays offs, as I just don't see this abundance of quality in our squad others see.

That changed to definitely make the play offs after the performances of Harvey Barnes and now sods lawesque we could end up appointing the c??? Who recalled him to Leicester if the bookies odds are to be believed, thereby changing the dynamic of our forward play, with Gayle moving to the wing etc, etc.

That's all water under the bridge now and imo We need to be cleverer and learn from how other clubs are doing well on limited budgets and we need to do what we used to be good at again.

Where we once found Mulumbu now others like Brentford find Maupay.

We need to exploit that cheaper foreign player market better like we used to do for the Korens and Tamas' as it is cheaper in fees and wages as shown by Norwich's emergence under Farke and his knowledge of the European transfer market.

We will never be in a position where our owner is going to let us make losses of over a million pounds a week like the Dingles.

We have to consider how Brentford continue to progress under the money ball system, and how different mangers there continue the same ethos they have and try and find our own system that works.

If I had to choose a manager now I'd give the job to Wagner as I think he'd have the knowledge of the European transfer market we need long term.

Short term I think the board will go for bust and offer someone like Allardyce a £2m bonus for promotion.

Either way only the Albion could give me the brilliant high of that injury time winner at qpr followed by 3 s hit performances.

I never said DM was the answer and actually said he needed to go down the leagues and learn his trade and earn the Albion job.

I just didn't agree to the constant he's thick and he is that, when the truth was he was inexperienced and given no proper funds to get proper quality targets like Tavernier and Woods.

Yes the constant c rap from the passes from the back p issed me off, but I gave him some slack as most of the fans were fed up with the Pulis hoofball, like you refer to, and here he was trying to change the culture of play the squad were used to. But it was clearly not working and players weren't good enough and continued to make stupid errors.

A lot of things p issed me off like the constant s hit fits on here dismissing a good free player like mcgoldrick was mentioned as a potential signing, without any knowledge of how well he'd done at Ipswich and what an aerial threat he could have been if we did want to go long when chasing a game.

Instead of having him on the bench like a modern day dichio we had nobody on the bench.

I think some fans, and I don't mean you, have to realise that we need to get those good free players like we did in the past like gmac again as our owner isn't spending s hit on us.

It was said DM coached the players out of possession and GJ coached them in possession, which probably explains why GJ has been sacked too, when I thought he would get the job if DM got the boot.

One thing I am glad about though is that we didn't have a double relegation like you foresaw.

Re new manager I think they will go for s hit or bust short term with an allardyce on a big bonus otherwise they would not have sacked DM.

I like the job Neill did at Norwich and Preston and I have always respected nigel adkins promotions at Southampton and after a lull in his career he has shown this season that he still has the desire and he has proven this season that he can change the fortunes of a very badly performing relegation favourite like Hull into a potential play off candidate.
