O/T County cricket season started yesterday

Notts v Yorks - Notts just been bowled out for 408. Olivier, making his Yorkshire debut, took 5 for 96. Not ideal conditions for playing or watching cricket!

What part of Yorkshire is Olivier from?

Olivier is a S. African international player. Yorkshire still have more home-grown players than most of the other counties.
Yorks finished on 206-5. Lyth 81, Root 56 n.o., but Leaning continues to struggle - out for a duck.

    Root?

I’d forgotten he played for Yorkshire

Live stream with BBC Radio Nottingham commentary on Trent Bridge Live site. Play for Day 3 has started on time, though it looks very overcast

Here we go again... middle order collapse, except for Root (73). Yorks all out for 291, giving Notts a big lead. At least the follow-on was avoided, but Yorks will have to dig in well to get a draw now

    @ mikemiller,
How do you reckon Yorkshire will do this season.
I May go up to Headingley for a match this season.

With current squad, no reason to believe that Yorkshire will do any better in the County Championship than last season. No big names signed in the close season, unless you count Olivier. No Brooks now, and middle-order batting was still unconvincing today. If we get a few injuries again, we could be struggling. We've just got to hope that Brook and Kohler-Cadmore get some consistency this season.
Might have a better chance of success in the one-day competitions?

Be lucky to avoid relegation with this squad.

Looks like another disappointing season ahead for us Yorkies then, eh Mike ?.
