We don't know but the Lisbon Treaty which was ratified in 2009 paves the way for it.

There is not an automatic process within the Lisbon Treaty that leads us to a Federal EU.

But, if you see it different, please explain which part of the treaty allows it to happen.

Interesting article and opinion of Martin Schulz. But please explain how the opinion of one guy constitutes a shift to a Federal Europe? There are other opinions too. Why not post those?

Even if one country pushes for this it still needs to pass through the EU Council and Parliament and be ratified by 27 other countries.

If you look at the EU today from it's early days in the 50's through the Common Market , EEC , single market , 4 freedoms , the euro and the flag then what is it telling you Wan Chai ?

Personally whether it happens or not I got a one time opportunity not to agree with a Federal Europe and I took it .

Why even take a chance when an opportunity arises ? .

The formation of a European Army is also played down in certain capitals of europe and yet two Dutch divisions , one each from Romania and the Czech Republic have already assigned themselves to the German army .

This seems to me how the EU operates , away from the spotlight and slowly building towards their goals and before too long it's already too late for the public to do anything about it .

Junker is on the record admitting as much .

Dear me! I've watched and listened to Juncker for years and have never witnessed him staggering. He's usually sensible and erudite. As for your visceral anti-German rants the Germans are doing their best to secure a good deal for the UK. If you follow the European parliament you might notice that almost all the MPs from the other 27 are reasonable, polite and sensible while Farage and his mob are insulting yobs forever banging on about WW1 or WW2 and even suggesting recently that our present woes are down to us somehow being diddled at the Treaty of Versailles after WW1.

Surely there is an argument that the EU was a way for Germany to achieve their territorial ambitions which were the major cause of 2 World Wars?

They've been trying to establish a "Greater German Empire" since before the Kaiser.

Right now they're fighting (not militarily as previously) with Russia for Ukraine.

All that changed was they realised they didn't need military force to achieve what they wanted.

Although I was wrong about Schultz running things in the EU as he left his post in 2017.

I think Farage was saying that the WA was like the Treaty of Versailles in that it resembles a document of surrender and will cause problems and resentment in future.

Guy Verhofstadt is certainly not reasonable or sensible either, he's constantly calling for "more power" for "the project", ranting and raving and waving his arms about.
