    I know let's play a game of cluedo .

Here are the facts as we know them .

Daniel Stendel loses two teeth and needs emergency dental treatment on saturday evening .

The Barnsley striker Cauley Woodrow tweets in the dressing room almost immediately that his coach was assaulted with blood pouring from his mouth .

The Fleetwood manager Joey Barton tries to flee the scene immediately in a car driven by his CEO .

The car is prevented from leaving Oakwell by a policewoman and a security guy .

Tension exists between Stendel and Barton since September of last year during Barnsley's 3-1 win at Highbury , both had to be separated in the technical area .

The game last saturday at Oakwell was full of unsavoury incidents including a straight red card for a Fleetwood defender for the use of an elbow .

The Fleetwood manager is a known hot head , he has served time in prison for assault in a city centre and putting a cigar out in a team mates eye whilst at Man City during a night out .

By his own testament in his autobiography he also assaulted a Man City defender in a bar in Singapore and caused damage to the bar during the altercation .

South Yorkshire Police charge an unknown man with racially aggravated assault and he is released on bail .

Clearly it was Professor Plum who assaulted Daniel Stendel with the lead pipe in the Oakwell billiard room .

    Nobody has been charged.

We can all speculate, but the fact that you are speculating is demonstrated by the use of the word 'flee'. You have no idea what arrangements had been made for him to travel after the game

As for what Woodrow tweeted, you have no idea if he saw something himself or is simply relating assumption and hearsay.

I appreciate that Stendel is the Barnsley manager and Barton isn't, but why speculate and get so hot under the collar? Why not wait to see if anyone is actually charged and the outcome of any court proceedings? What are you achieving by posting?

Barton may not be a very nice chap, but he is entitled to a fair hearing just like anyone else.

I'm not. The legal system likes long drawn out affairs. They make more money that way

    [QUOTE=KerrAvon;39198610]Because it's a matter of public record.

If it's a matter of public record how come it took you over an hour to come up with that?
You were online the whole of that time
Please provide a link to the public record & I may just believe you although I wouldn't necessarily believe you if you told me today was Good Friday & as you know I have good reason to doubt your word
Whilst you're doing that consider this
I have heard many a barrister [just by way of example] say to a defendant during cross examination "I put it to you that you did x when the defendant says he did y
No real evidence just information that the barrister has been supplied with.Is not that speculation or opinion?

Could you please keep on topic. This thread is entitled Joey Barton assault, it's not a thread about a whether a bloke who looked somewhat like Joey Barton might have assaulted someone

If there's no footage and no witnesses the CPS could well drop it.

There are at least 2 witnesses, one being the Barnsley manager and one being a bloke who looks somewhat like Joey Barton. If it comes down to their word alone I can only guess that one of them will be telling the truth and one will be lying but I'm not prepared to say which one's which

Hmmm...nobody saw anything? What were they? Arsenal Wenger apprentices?

The player that posted the original twitter message must have seen something, and it’s highly unlikely that Barton and Stendel were the only people there.

Every game I’ve been to the officials are usually the last off the pitch and in this game where there were arguments on the touch line they would surely have seen how it all ended?

Whatever did or did not happen, JB has 'form' for getting involved, shall we say...
