Pretty much every one of your posts is based on a little clotted version of history you've developed to make your world bearable. No fizzy pop wins in 90 years, this season failed again, yet there is still a chance of promotion. DUFC haven't won the right to be amongst the big boys since 1928, 91 years ago, in terms of being the best fizzer team. What is wrong with you, you are not beating any of two form Premiership teams who have proven they are fit to stay in the big league. Dunno. I think it is Sheds and Taints having their usual argument about average crowd numbers across the road? The fact that Taints came up with 1928 suggests to me that Sheds was quoting a lower figure but I can't be botrhered looking.

Taints, it's all about consistency me lad. We are the inveterate 2nd besters. It's how we got up the last time. That's why we couldn't get promoted when we finished 3rd. Since 1974, when we reached our first ever major cup final, the year after Dees history ceased, we have been cup runners up 18 gazillion times compared to our very few (by comparison) major cup victories. Any Dee in their mid 40s has never seen a successful Dee, but have lived through all of the Shed's success, and of course all those second besters!

By the way, don't get confused between 'the Shed or Shed's' and 'Sheds.' The first refers to the Club and the latter refers to our gracious board member 'Sheds.'

Just for you Taints. This is how it was. Not long after colour TV came to the UK. Many still had B&W back then. I like this vid. It is a reminder of how the proud fall and the humble can rise, as the cup win was soon brought to naught and the wee team grew mighty. Enjoy. Brilliant too. In many ways it is a forerunner of the Shed (not Sheds) to come.
