EFL statement on Bolton v Brentford game
Following the failure of Bolton Wanderers to provide formal confirmation of its ability to meet its obligation to fulfil its Championship fixture against Brentford FC on Saturday (27 April), the game will not go ahead as planned.
Earlier on Friday, the playing staff at the Club issued a collective statement confirming that they had decided not to fulfil the remaining fixtures of the season unless they received monies owed to them.
As a result of these disappointing developments, the League has been forced to suspend Saturday’s fixture and under EFL Regulations, the Club is now deemed to be guilty of misconduct and will be referred to an Independent Disciplinary Commission.
The EFL Board will now consider the matter of determining whether the fixture will be played or not.
No further comment will be made at this time.

They signed quite a few players on the eve of this season presumably on much higher salaries than ours.
Why did they do this if they were already in dire financial issues. Why were they allowed to do this.
No sympathy indeed.
EFL should be made to explain their lack of action. Useless and toothless
Still trying to sort Bolton out, maybe play Brentford on Wednesday

He probably would say that if he's never had 3 months salary owed to him and no sign of any money being paid in the near future.
If I were a Bolton player I wouldn't,t play either. It's been dragging on far too long
Bolton players getting paid by efl now
Seriously fair play gone out of window
It is Bolton though.....one of those clubs that will always be looked after.
Wonder where the EFL go or plan what to do if the takeover doesn't go ahead? Would they bounce Bolton down to league 2 where they should start from again, providing they get someone to take them over, or is that too harsh?
