    Disillusioned with the Forum.. . . . .

…….. . . . and some members, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I think its good on here as we know each other (in an internet sense) and can have a laugh without anyone getting the hump, I can take the Micky out of Alf's p!ss bag while he comes back at me with a tease of sleeping with Matron, same with Acido the yarkshur tosser, he knows the score and can take it as well as give it, the political posts are hard hitting between Sinkov, 59 , BT and others, some strong words but we know we are only speaking our mind and don't take it to heart, we treat all as equal, the same with new posters, as long as they treat us with some respect as you would entering someone's house for the first time getting to know the lay of the land before flexing their muscles.

Its the same with OUR Club, we all support it with the same passion, but have different views, I'm sure when BT address' me he does not mean to demean me, he's just speaking his mind, and I hope my responses are not taken personally by him as again its only my opinion.

The lunatics are running the asylum of the world and it appears to have gripped this Forum as 24 hours ago some arsehole (as that is what he is) stated he could not understand how at least 5 posters spend most of their time on here as they don't have much time left, and then laughed, yet only 2 have lightly touched on it, preferring to discuss that there is too much negativity on the Forum, and its driving folk away and that its spoiling the message board FFS.

Sorry, but its akin to those idiots in Parliament wanting to talk about Elephants being treated badly in a Circus this past week rather than the more real and important topic of more and more folk getting stabbed more often than not.

Like Army has stated, you are dancing on thin Ice with wanting to gag negative comments as after all it is a Forum, I thought we had all discussed this PC nonsense, the establishment wanting words banned, its gone too far over the top, yet its been said that negativity is over the top on here, What Do you want ? a gagging of negative views on OUR Club ? the positive comments are met with some posters negative opinions and vice versa, its 50 50, and I'd disagree with your comment 59 that its a minority on this board who are negative, I'd say it about 60% to 40%, but you are political so I can understand your wrong figures

And its not negativity about the Team/Club, its an opinion, alternate view, different slant, its healthy and what each person personally thinks should happen within the Boardroom and how we like/dislike the way in which we play with players we like and ones we don't, after all we are all different

I agree with most of that Alto!

I would say that negative posters account for around 80% of posts on here - I said that if we had that percentage in our crowd at Turf Moor then it would be a very toxic atmosphere.
It isn't, and so this board is not representative of the Turf Moor massive.

Recently I was feeling very proud of our team because we had just got a deserved 2-2 draw at Chelsea. The team sweat blood for our cause and I was feeling very upbeat.
The reaction on here was to slag off MY club and I just couldn't believe it.

Since Christmas we have been brilliant. Not in a Barca or City way, but in OUR way.

No matter how we played, or what the result was, the reaction on here was the same - negativity ruled.

I am all for open discussion - I have regularly been criticised for sticking up for my club - but I totally accept that everyone is entitled to their opinion.
It's just the level of unwarranted criticism from the majority of posters that puts me off getting involved in a lot of topics.

This board is in no way representative of the way the average Burnley fan sees things.

I could understand it if this were a Rovers, Preston, Leeds, Wigan, Bolton, Huddersfield, Blackpool, or every other local clubs forum.
But we are outperforming every single one of our rivals - which hasn't happened for donkeys years, and my club is still getting dogs abuse on here.

We used to criticise some clubs supporters because of their "sense of entitlement" attitude.
But that's how it comes across on here I'm afraid.

I enjoy reading all comments on here. Some I might not agree with but I know people don't agree with a lot of my comments.. That's life though.. At the end of the day we all support the Clarets though and want to see them doing well.

One things for sure Alf, we will be kicking off in the Premier League.

    ALL our rivals won't.

And I'm confident that we will be putting out a bloody good team in August - Sean will have learned plenty this season.

Exactly - Alto.....the same as how I can see what some consider to be a Positive point - as a Negative one....if my comments differ from others - then others can differ from mine.....so we agree or disagree, what's new - as you say "we're different"....think different, react different...I enjoy the variation....just why this subject keeps creeping up....again and again...I don't know - as it'll unsettle everytime....but if it helps to strengthen our freedom of speech - then that's no bad thing !

I think you're wrong on one basic point 59, you equate comments on a msgboard such as this with supporting the team on Turf Moor but it's a totally different thing. I might criticise certain aspects of the way the club is run on here and I don't enjoy the type of football we're forced to play in this division, so I don't waste my Saturday afternoons watching it any more, but I fully accept that's the way it's got to be, and the last season I was watching, bored to tears, I still got behind the team and they got my full support. I think most fans know the score, they know we can't play PL teams off the park, but they accept it's not particularly good to watch, they'll moan about it afterwards in the pub or on msgboards, but they don't get on the team's backs at a game.

Do you seriously believe that say Me or Norder or Alto or Army, or anyone on here who might be critical of any aspect of the club would go on Turf Moor and spend 90 minutes booing and jeering ? If you do 59, then you don't know much about us Burnley fans. Do you think 18,000 Burnley fans all walk off Turf Moor after every game pleased with what they've seen ? Of course they don't, they know what they're seeing, and why they're seeing it, when we don't play well all you can hear as you walk off are numerous comments of the likes of 'What a bag of ****e that was', just like you get on here.

I often think msgboards are a good thing in that they allow fans to let off steam, have a good moan, when they're not happy about something, better to get it off your chest on the internet that get on the player's backs during a game, that's how it works for me anyway, and I'm sure most others.

A very funny thing happened on my way to the Forum this morning when I bumped into this most delightful young lady and someone shouted Caesar which I did and then I was arrested which was a bit unfortunate.
