They and their agents are waiting to see what wages are on offer at Barnsley compared to any wage offers they get from other clubs. That's top and bottom of it. Forget all the badge kissing and "tweets".

We had chance to sign Dack from the Gills around 3 yrs back , same with Eaves last season , maybe out of the spreadsheet range ? , that needs a serious rethink in my opinion, we Carnt keep relying on Youth and dropping lucky in the Championship , it dunt work

What I’d like to see more than anything is that we start the season with a squad that’s going to stay together ALL season. An addition of a player or two in January, rather than losses.
This seasons losses in January in terms of squad players was Luckily ridden out, but in next years mid term window we need to be selling none of our players. Decisions to offer contracts, and purchases made in the summer need to be made with a mind to having little or no change throughout the Whole Campaign

Retention is most important - no January stupidity. Ivan Toney has developed well & looks a handful, Malik Wilks, Simon Eastwood (if Adam leaves) & Jack Payne

Not that bothered about Jack Payne tbh. Didn't impress when I watched him play against us.

For me what I call the senior players i would let the following leave if out of contract or they are not happy with current deal / game time
FRYERS
CAVARE
THIAM
JACKSON

HEDGES

A few U23's such as Victor, Ben, Green, Bird out on loan - assuming they are all under contract for next season

Would certainly take up Bahre option to sign a player developing well and i honestly think he will perform well in the Championship

So IMO we need urgent quality signings at

STRIKER

Of course we can only speculate on who we will lose but any of our senior players who either want to jump ship for more £ and club agrees to cash in will need replacing so my guess is we could be looking at around 8-9 senior players leaving 6 mentioned above plus possibly Davies, Pinnock & Lyndsay. So come 3rd August, 10+ new senior players could be wearing a Barnsley FC shirt - bit frightening.....init!
