As for Yates I doubt we could get bus fair for him and we don’t even play him right (when he was at Carlisle he played as a WF with two other strikers with Rotherham’s 1 striker approach he wouldn’t be able to cope in our team.

Iv said it once and il say it again Jerry Yates is a midfielder trying to be a striker
I'm purely going on Yates record for Carlisle and his age.

If his Williams heart is in the club that's for warne to decide (he knows with his attitude)

But finishing can be improved on. League 1 he will be a good asset

I can’t see him playing for us again
I think Warne played him to see if he still has it. I think he is probably the most consistent midfielder we have. Yes he has had his injury problem but hopefully there’s another year left in him at least.

Not as constant as crooks mate 16 games 3 goals in championship beats potters 16 games in league 1 with no goals.

That’s not enough games to judge either.

Anyway, goals scored for a midfielder isn’t the best measure of effectiveness

Take Iniesta for example, in his Barcelona career he achieved about 1 goal every 15 games, but as a midfielder he was top of the tree.

I’m just saying the difference mate both have played same amount of games yet one has goals in championship while the other one hasn’t scored in in league 1.

Yes there’s more to midfield than goals but potters assists isn’t good ether and he is older than crooks

To me crooks is better than potter

Crooks more in the Vaulks mould, Potter is the better passer.

We could do with both next season

Heard yesterday that Lincoln City might be putting in a bid for Smith? They're currently enjoying their best era for decades and may have some cash to spend. I'd be surprised if this is true but you never know. There will definitely be league 1 clubs interested but I'd imagine it'll be the bigger clubs ie. Portsmouth, Coventry, Charlton etc, presuming they remain L1 clubs..
I'd be gutted to see him go tbh. I think he could be as useful as Kieffer Moore at L1 level after gaining some experience at a higher level this season

Forde did OK for us last time out in L1, as did all our wide players tbh. But I think we will lose Williams and Newell, arguably our most skilful players (on their day) and will be hard to replace.

I'd try and keep Newell but transfer the speed of Williams into him before he left.
