Thread: Dwight Gayle will be banned for 2 games

Gayle's sending off was a terrible decision. Surely any striker would have gone for that cross. It's not his fault the keeper dived on it. The penalty? I couldn't tell. Not seen the replay apart from when it happened. Looked like contact and was a poor call by Gibbs to go in like that. Grealish would make the most of it, he always does. Good chance one of ours would have done the same in the same situation.

Agree with that Chris. Despite what we were able to see after the event, the Villa penalty looked a definite. Just as the Albion ‘penalty’ that never was did. One other thing that might be thought piddling (but I don’t think so) is how refs are increasingly letting things go. The example yesterday was the taking of throw-ins (one by each team). I could hardly believe the Villa one which was the sort of thing we were pulled up for at Junior school. Refereeing standards are getting worse.

Talking to my mates when I got back, most of whom are obviously Leicester fans, they felt that we had the 'rough edge of the wedge'. It was felt that Gayle should never have received a yellow card for the challenge on the'keeper and that we should have had a penalty. With little time left, what was Gayle supposed to do, let Steer catch the ball unchallenged? Appalling decision.

My opinion Leicester mate on one yellow with time running out I would have took him off at that time + the crowd were on his back to me he was always was going to do something rash after their manager said something to him & time wasting ? But what do I know ?
