Actually that's not true. Ignoring the nationalists of Wales and Scotland who would appear to favour remain, the confirmed remainers (LD, Green, Change) slightly edged out Brexit & UKIP on share of vote: 35.8% to 34.9%.

In this analysis I've ignored the two main parties who do not have a clear stance.

So if this is an indicative surrogate 2nd referendum I'd say it's 1-1, again by the slimmest of margins.

Farage hasn’t ‘done’ anyone again, MoP. Despite all the hype over substance, even in a single issue election very little has changed.

The UKIP vote has all but disappeared and gone to Farage but add up the Lib Dems, SNP, Greens, Change UK and those Labour and Tory voters who didn’t defect to the BP and the picture is simply one of a polarised nation which is pretty much split down the middle.

The turn out was just over 50% I think...amazing given the National fixation that Brexit has been for the last three years and Farage managed to win over around a third of that 50%.

Hardly a ringing endorsement for Brexit, certainly not the ‘voice of the people’ and when you are only splitting your vote with the few lunatic racists remaining in UKIP and supporting the likes of Tommy Robinson that really isn’t much of an achievement.

Don’t know about that, but it’s true.

Seeing as you’re attempting to use a football forum to advance Farage’s cause, let’s try a football analogy to illustrate my point.

Just hypothetically, suppose there are ten football supporters in a pub on the outskirts of Nottingham...4 of them support Forest...the home town (single issue) club, three support Derby, two support Notts County, and one supports Chesterfield.
The four Forest fans think they’re the best team but although the Derby, Notts County and Chesterfield fans all differ amongst themselves one thing they all agree on is that they can’t stand Forest.
So who is the most popular club? Forest have the most individual support because they’re the home town (single issue) club and they’ve got 40%...but actually the one thing that the other 60% agree on is that they don’t think Forest are the best club.

Isn’t that your view of Brexit? you keep claiming to have the most support and represent the ‘voice of the people’ but actually there’s more against you/Farage than pro.

He was always going to get somewhere around a third of the vote because approximately that proportion of the country supports Brexit but guess what? Whichever way you ‘dress it up’ that still leaves a majority who don’t.

Cheap shot using Forest as your analogy - hardly going to argue against that!

Minority voted to remain.
Other proportion don't care / are undecided / couldn't vote - I know you want to claim them, but you can't.

I didn't vote last week, had other priorities - you're not claiming my vote as remain.

You can use any clubs you like Adi and the analogy, on this occasion, only covers those who voted.
Obviously the Brexit Party took the UKIP vote along with many disaffected Labour and Tory voters...those who didn’t vote BP or UKIP are unlikely to support Brexit and they, whether LibDem, SDP, Labour, Tory, Welsh Nationalist, Green or ChangeUK are in the majority as far as Brexit is concerned and that is likely to be reflected in any second referendum.

Why try and tell me what I’d be saying if...? If Roos hadn’t done his ‘careless hands’ impression yesterday and if Holmes had played we might have won...so what? It means nothing.

Just answer the point...the majority of the ‘people’ didn’t vote for Farage or the BP did they? Jeez, MoP...even with his brand new toy and a single issue election he could still only get a little over a third of the 50% who bothered to vote

He isn’t a genius at all...he’s relatively articulate and charismatic if you’re gullible enough to not see straight through him, nothing more.
He’s made a personal fortune out of Europe and Brexit, but real geniuses use their talent to solve issues not create disharmony wherever they go...that’s easy.

P.S. Six weeks preparation...really? Farage has been planning his comeback ever since he abandoned UKIP and everyone had the same notice about whether these elections would actually be happening at all.

I do agree though that the rest are ‘running scared’, so yet again we have politicians from both major Parties more concerned with how to save their own skins than what is actually good for the country.
