I don't think the legal action is anything to do with promises. The accusation is that Boris said that we give the EU £350 million a week. If he did and that is not the case then he lied. What do you see on the bus that makes you think different?

I don't want to say too much about the case as it is arguably sub-judice. I would simply point out that the CPS has the power to take over private prosecutions and drop them if they are deemed to be doomed to fail or not in the public interest.

It remains the fact that he would be a good appointment, however, as whatever happens with Brexit, we have a lot of negotiations with the EU to come and it would be better to have a Anglophile on their team rather than someone like Juncker, who really doesn't like us.

The thing is that the figure of 350 Million per week is about right but that is without the UK rebate taken in to consideration. If you take the rebate in to consideration you are looking at a sum of 250 million give or take a couple of hundred thousand. It is still substantially more than the 175 million you are claiming it is.

So what are we saying? That the Leave campaign 'forgot' the rebate? How careless. Both they and you must also have forgotten that we also receive payments from the EU, which takes the net payment lower than the £250m that you are quoting.
