When it was only on BBC, banned from being on a Saturday, the advertising revenue wasn't there. Sky not only rip your wallet out through your backside but then put in loads of adverts on top, yet that's ok and everyone just sucks it up.

BBC though, ad free and great stuuff like Killing Eve, Luthor and the like,meh.
But people choose to have their wallets ripped out through their backside.
