The hay fever theory is it has to be raw honey rather than the pasteurised "dead" honey that we generally find on supermarket shelves. To that end there may be something in it as I think it's generally accepted that any health promoting properties that honey is typically associated with are lost by heating/pasteurising.

Then again, there's always the placebo effect

Never suffered with it but an ex-girlfriend way back had it so bad she used to turn her eyelids inside out to ease the irritation.

    Wasn’t a good look!

Had it from a kid till I was 40. Past 10 years I've not suffered at all.
Beconase was the best I've tried. Went to a koi show and there was a stall who sold honey tablets/creams/syrups for allergies. I tried them, expensive, didn't do owt for me..
My routine. Piraton in the morning, beconase in-between. Piraton at 6pm.

Tip, if anyone has a dog get piraton from vet they usually give them for grass allergies. From my vets there £2.78 for 32. Branded product so Exact same ingredients..

The honey theory potentially works in the same way as giving people with nut allergies tiny amounts of peanuts I would imagine. The body builds up a tolerance and the amounts people can eat builds up and eventually people who couldn't eat anything with a trace of nuts end up being able to eat about 5 peanuts without having a reaction.

Obviously this is done by medical professionals in a very controlled environment. Not a case of people with allergies having a little nibble on a KP and seeing what happens lol.

In terms of the OP, see your GP. They can prescribe stuff that gives you a massive hit of antihistamines that you only take on a PRN basis when your symptoms are really bad.

    F@Ck me, I sound like Kempo!! 😮

Yes I've heard of the honey theory aside from Brins naughty interlude.
As some have said it could work for some and may just be a placebo.

I understood that it had to be from local bee hives to where you live. The theory being that you build up a resistance to the pollen in your locality.

Obviously if you go away for the weekend or on hols then you might start suffering again
