Again with the integrity ****e You dont know the meaning of the word
    Try answering my question
What would you expect anyone to do if they knew their job was untenable ? Would you expect them to look for alternatives or just pray that everything will be ok and carry on regardless?

    PS integrity is
the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
Something you and overlord Ashley know eff all about

But this is just the point. Rafa apparently made out that it was all a shock only 1 week before his contract was up, that Ashley and co had decided there was no further point in negotiating, so how could he have been looking for other jobs and actually know this one was the project for him at the right time?
If you can't see that this stinks then fair enough but I do see it stinking to high heaven.

Rafa's integrity is a fallacy in my opinion. By my guess, he's used the fans love for him as some kind of messiah as his bargaining tool and it appears he thought he could simply dictate his own terms.
This is why I think Ashley basically gave up negotiating with the man.

I'd hazard a guess that Rafa was offered another good contract and a certain spend which would have been reasonable when considering what he's had to spend over 3 seasons. I'd guess that he wanted a kings ransom to play with the big boys.
Ashley being careful would likely have called no joy.

Rafa doesn't seem like a man that likes to be turned down.
The fans have took to a man who's been paid 6 million a season, likely 20 million or so in the three and a bit seasons at Newcastle and he's achieved what any ordinary manager would have achieved in my honest opinion.

I am extremely glad Rafa is not our manager. I didn't enjoy 80% of his set up and I didn't particularly like the way he tried (and succeeded with some) to play the fans off against the club and into his pocket with his canvassing tactics.

The man's been found out. There's a reason clubs in England or Europe weren't clamouring for his signature. A Chinese club latched onto him, just like they do with absolutely anyone with a name to try and enhance their stance in the world of football.
Rafa's now got his so called perfect project at the right time, all done and dusted, either, in a few days or over time while still under contract.

Either way something doesn't add up and he walks away from Newcastle, for me, as a man who lost his facade of having integrity.
You feel free to argue this as much as you feel. I will do the same whilst I still have the typing ability to do so, until stopped.

Don't try and win an argument with ad hominem and strawman attacks. It makes you look weak.

Thinking about it. Ghost, and anyone who continues to go, have no ambition for success at the club. They just want to have their day out seeing the nice green pitch, the black n white shirts and the big crowd.

I can understand people wanting different things from the club than me but I cannot understand anyone claiming to want success at the club still continuing to go.

Not quite on the ball but in a way it's close to facts.

I don't have any control over ambition for Newcastle United football club, because I have zero control over what that ambition is at any time. Only those who run the club and those who they bring in can realise or not, any ambition the hierarchy deems doable at the time.
    I live in hope as a fan/supporter...but that's all I do.

I watch the games and wish for a win.
I hope for better things at all times but not at the expense of destroying my enjoyment of having a realistic football club replaced with a plastic one, which could easily happen if we ever try to play outside of our comfort zone against the bias of the premier league.

Don't get mixed up with me not wanting success because I don't hate Ashley and don't go all gooey on messiah type managers that do no better than ordinary down to earth managers.
Also don't kid yourself that boycotting a club you profess to love is some kind of love thing in order to get it performing how you want it to perform.
That's conditional support. Mine is 100% unconditional.

Fans (in the main) continue to go because they love the club, not a regime or a manager or a stand out player. They still go whether the club is a premier league club, championship club, league one, league two or non league. The die hards. The fans who are unconditional.

Full houses in the championship is all you really need to know. Fans getting excited because the club was winning and fighting at the top end.
Full houses in the premier league amid all kinds of threats of boycott's and whiny managers making out they're existing on gruel.

Chalk and cheese but still full houses.

We're all different. I have my ways and you have your ways, just as everyone else has theirs. All I say to anyone is, follow your own mind and your own path and don't get dragged along on a whim at any time by pied pipers taking you down a route you are not comfortable taking.

Nothing's perfect at Newcastle United but then again it never usually has been and if this is a bad time then my lifetime support must be skewed, because what I've seen in the past has been much much worse, that makes this time look more like a walk in the park.
But I've also saw the better time all mixed in from then to now.

If people want to give up their enjoyment of football and want to wait for fairer weather, then that's their choice. If their mindset is on wanting success and they will decide to come back when they believe there's a chance the club will go for it, then fine.
I'll still be supporting the club regardless.

Just remember that those who stick by the club through thick and thin are unconditional, not weak.

So answer me this Einstein - if the only route to ambition lies with the hierarchy of the club why have they shown jack sh** ? It is widely publicised in today's press that back in early May,after the first post season meeting,Rafa knew that the writing was on the wall & there continued to be apathy towards ambition from the top.Just look at the training facilities as an example. Therefore as previously posted, any right minded person would put his CV out in search for a more ambitious club.Dont give me the pounds shillings & pence salary argument,Rafa tried to embed a culture of ambition but met with the usual brick wall.
Let's see how the Longstaff situation develops - I'm sure the FCB will relish the prospect of nurturing & keeping home grown talent at the expense of a £30m + sale......... WHATEVER. Thats ambition for you !!!!
On a final point concerning ambition surely it was apparent to the hierarchy at an early stage that Rafa was to depart. Why then was a replacement not lined up well before now? You hold the opinion that the Rafa situation stinks.By the same token anyone with a degree of sanity can see that the Ashley situation stinks in again stalling on Managerial appointment to save the precious pennies.... & before you venture any suggestion that any impending takeover is tying his hands, think Perez!!!!

They have shown plenty but it's washed under the carpet when it doesn't pay off.

Lots of things are widely publicised but it doesn't mean they're full of factual information. Even you can't deny this.

    An example of what?
Not state of the art but fit for purpose.

Only the very top managers can do that. Those are the managers that are head hunted. The rest are putting CV's out in order to get a job and 90% will take any job that pays the most money, in my opinion.

Rafa is absolute proof of this, only it's Chinese money that equates to his bank account of pounds, shillings and pence.
    He's not alone.
Rafa was going backwards at this club because he was stubborn and thought he could blackmail the hierarchy. That's my opinion of the man.

Yeah, let's see because most of the big money players that's left this club have orchestrated it themselves and was there for us all to see.
Let's see if Longstaff takes that route and let's see how that route pans out...or not.

Maybe it wasn't apparent. We can only go on media hype over all of this stuff, plus people's perception of everything being Ashley's fault and Rafa is god or vice versa, depending on the thought process of each person.
Rafa apparently made out he had no clue about him leaving until a week before he left and had to read that in the paper...so something's wrong if Rafa then manages to have a project all done and dusted in days which suits him...and of course the money is irrelevant to him because he's simply a man of integrity who prefers to see out ambitious projects. What a crock of tish.

Massively. In fact I'd go as far as to say it stinks worse than a bag of rotten fish in a filthy sewer.

Ashley's no angel. Far from it. However it's extremely possible that he thought Rafa would sign on. It's extremely possible that Rafa gave a hint that he would. Lots and lots of possibilities can come from this but the fact is we have no manager as of yet and until we do, I'd hazard a guess that the only incoming players would be youngsters until a manager is appointed.
Many clubs go through this situation so it's nothing new.

I don't know what's tying his hands and neither do you but we are told that Ayoze Perez had a release clause in his contract of 30 million which was triggered by Leicester. And if that's the truth of it then it doesn't matter whether it's a takeover or no takeover.

It's fine having ambition if you know you've got a chance of realising it.
What exactly is the ambition Ashley needs to realise?
