I was born and bred in Canklow, I really was. I was born on Rotherview Road, number 69 to be exact.

My Nan and Grandad were the first tenants of their house on Town Street and lived there for over 50 years.

I went to Canklow Woods Primary school, there I received a good education, learned to play the euphonium and several other instruments.

I became a really good footy player under the stewardship of Mr Kenneth Knowles who was the Headmaster theit and a great man. He was also heavily involved in Rotherham Boys, who I played for.

Is Canklow one of the best things in Rotherham?

Who knows but it certainly didn't do me any harm. I've done really well in life and I know many others born and bred there who have done the same.
