    League openers

Looking forward to seeing how the 2 league favourites get on playing each other today. After reading about the mauling we took last night next door (in contrast with my own eyes) I checked how the pars started last season and surprise surprise they had a 3-2 away win at the unbeatables.

For the record, tactically and all over the park they gave us a doing first half. We were lucky to go in 2-1. In the second half after our changes, and after we started winning tackles and using the ball they were lucky to escape with a draw.

On the night our best performers were Robertson (2nd half) and McDaid ( he looked a player). Paul Mcgowan single handed kick started the engine but I never want to see him take a left foot swing at a shot 20 yards out again.

Poor first half formation and delivery but much better second, and now I fully understand why Hamilton doesn’t come off his line.

It’s about opinions, he was the one that looked a different player (in a good way) to the ore-season/Betfred stuff.

I thought McDaid was distinctly average but needs to get more involved.

I thought Todd made a difference ( j sitting next to me didnae, all see it differently) mad McGowan frustrates the he'll out of me as he's no particularly great at anything but we needed his errr encouragement of others last night.

Byrne has been quiet the 3 games I've seen him, quietly effective? Not convinced yet.

I didn't like how our whole team was second to just about everything first half and even though the service to the forwards was limited, nothing stuck.

I don't know why we don't mix it up a wee bit more and go long now and again, plenty pace in the team.

Encouraged that Mcpake wasn't frightened to radically change it even though we had just scored on ht.
