No chance the manager will sell Clark. He's played him at the no.10 position and the left wing position JUST to get him in the team. He's definitely a favourite. FWIW I do think he has something to offer but only as a strike partner to Shankland in a 4-4-2, however the emergence & performances of Appere may limit his time there.
Clark scored a few important goals last season. But, to date, hasn't done enough to nail down a place in the 1st team. A 1st team striker needs to score more than he has so far.
He's getting his chance now. I'd love to see him take it. But I kinda think that ultimately he may not be good enough. Even in this division.
But, he deserves a chance to show he's worth hanging on to.
Surely Clark can only be judged on his goal scoring prowess as a number 9. Playing as a number 10 when you are naturally a number 9 is clearly a handicap. It is clear that the number 10 role he is being asked to play at the moment does nt suite his style of play. The same can be said of McDonald and safranko. When both were played out with their natural number 9 role they struggle to really make any impact. I think if Clark was given a chance up top with shanks he wld be an important player for us this season.
Can't agree with that, he hasn't shown anything to suggest he should be regular starter up front for a team with ambitions of winning this league
I agree with a lot of that but there is no way he starts as #9 at the moment and we probably have options at left midfield.
What thearab said!
We are talking about a lad that scored 15 goals last season, all while missing out through injury, back too soon after that injury, then playing out of position with bad service.
And why the hell are we talking about breaking up a winning team? Clark did really well with the job he did and was unlucky not to get himself a goal.
