Most of us are over 50 and were brought up on hatcher smith, Stewart Pearce, Vinny Jones type tackles (other tackles are available) it's never going to be the same as it was. Times move on and change. Some for the better some for worst.
Mobile phones are the most annoying technology over the past 20 years but 99% of mm users will be using one. I'm even typing this on mine.
I remember my grandad saying what a stupid idea it was not allowing a GK who's the only player on the pitch allowed to pick the ball up, not allowing to pick the ball up from a backpass..
VAR is a huge game changer. It will take time but it's got to be for the better. Long term..

There's too much tinkering going off at the moment with maybe VAR being the biggest. What would be nice is for them to enforce the rules we already have. The "respect" initiative for example which supposedly stopped managers and players arguing with the ref. They seem to turn a blind eye (and ear) to that one.

It took many years to improve DRS and reviews in rugby to where it us now - an integral part of the game.

If you dont want it stop whinging about the quality of refs and take indifferent decisions as part of the game.

Well for the Man City game it was Mike Dean?

Supposedly one of our best refs but it was still a VAR disaster.

Grist, in what sense did VAR make the Man City game a "disaster"?
