And to think many teams in the Championship look at Burnley with envy. An example of what can be achieved if a "smaller" club is well run. You need to have a word Alto. I'm amazed we're not in the nether regions of League Two frankly.

Thanks for taking the time and trouble for your replies BT
They are an EPL team just like us Alto and it's a bit early to be calling both teams poor, and the weather was atrocious. I was not hoping to be taken literally, but Wood is always offside! Its also a bit early with comments saying BFC would be O.K. after that performance but you did.
We are in the EPL, what's it matter how it's paid for FFS? Because you make it sound as though BFC has paid it and done it of their own free will, they didn't the PL money paid for it after being forced by PL regulations to do it
Gawthorpe was history when Bob Lord initiated it, now it's ground breaking! And since its been done it has been submitted again and again which is wearing thin for some as now what should be more important is the first 11 team.
Pieters, BFP, Jay Rod and Drinkwater are major additions for a total of peanuts, Rigg is starting to be effective and he's costing us nowt. Major additions ? Really ?
A zillion other teams signed players on deadline day, that's what it's for FFS![/I] We always leave it late because we don't seem competent and need to up our pay, even before Rigg who you claim is starting to be effective, remember Grozitski and Hitheyk.
Thankfully the Board learned from the Laws debacle. Go on the Hornets board and see what they think about Dyche? Of course they learn from their mistake BT, that's why I have mentioned all the amateurish mistakes they continue to make, I'm not interested in What Watford of Man City fans think about our team, only other Clarets that agree or disagree with what is happening.
No-one cares because no-one is invited! The truth is no-one cared at the helm of BFC because the AGM was one place supporters could get their teeth into the Club and ask genuine questions, that's one reason they axed it, if you'd have attended more (as I Did) than the one you actually went too then you'd understand.
At the time of the Director's loans no bank would touch us. That's a fact - check it out? Even if that was true they rallied around and charged the Club 4 times the going rate (Don't forget they are Burnley fans), and at that time John B loaned the Club £10 Million, £10 Million we didn't really need but the interest John B would and Did collect was very lucrative indeed.
The thing with Garlick is when he needs experts he brings them in. Mike does not do vanity projects. So why did he persevere with the transfer negotiating for so long ? Experts ? Rigg an expert ?
If I recall correctly I think he said we could spend £24 million if Sean Dyche asked him to your recollection is very poor BT, Very.
He's does not find the players our "Famous Five" do that[. At no point in this window as Garlick said, "No!"/I] Famous Five, who may these 5 be ? and have you got an ear in that group to know what Garlick says does or wants ?.
Crikey! when was the last time you went in the shop? There's some fabulous tat in there! Bolton are currently fielding a first team with an average age of 19. Perhaps we should be skint, in League 1 and give that a try? " I'm pleased you agree and said Tat, and what has Bolt On to do with it ?
Am I correct in thinking our Chairman should now sell tickets and take photos of the squad? We have a highly competent CEO who I would imagine is already addressing the ticketing problem As I've said the buck stops with Garlick, His CEO (sorry I have to laugh at the word competent) should be all over things himself and with his team, he obviously is not as competent as you claim.
I watched Chelsea and ManUre yesterday, one has blown almost a billion on rubbish and the other one is on a transfer embargo. that's at least two other EPL teams who don't manage to get everything right Yet they have been in the top six in the Pl for many years and with proper marketing are making many Millions every year.
it's not just Stoke though is it? Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Bolton, Blackburn, Leeds, WBA et al want to trade places with us. Last question Alto - Mike Garlick or the Venkys? What exactly have all the teams you mentioned wanting to trade places with Burnley got to do with my post BT ? Mike Garlick or Venkys ? Are you serious, read my post again BT
We will never agree BT, Which is a good thing as long as Burnley keep marching on in what ever capacity it finds itself, but its good to share each others views.

I'm glad some of you don't support British Airways, phuck me you would simply melt away in anguish.![]()
Sean Dyche is part of the problem if you think our Recruitment Team are not up to the job.
Our "Famous Five" select a target, assess the value, agree the contracts, sort out the agent then they go to Mike Garlick and ask for the money.
They are: Sean Dyche, Dave Baldwin, Ian Woan, Ian Butterworth and Mike Rigg.
There is not a suggestion, a rumour or fact that our Chairman said "No" to any player proposal in this last window. A League Two side in the "nether regions" simply could not afford to be able to accumulate and pay for the likes of Sean Dyche, Dave Baldwin, Ian Woan, Ian Butterworth and Mike Rigg.

You don't do sarcasm or satire do you Alto? The store was selling out on Saturday, hundreds of people were queueing up to spend their hard earned Wonga on tat.
Bolton tried it your way, a lax Board of directors, no accountability, stripped the assets, took the money and the consequence is they are currently fielding a first team with an average age of 19, playing in League 1 and are totally skint. Be careful what you wish for.
Aye I do sarcy BT, but when debating and listening to your replies I really don't know which way you are going to swing as through a season when we are winning regardless of how poorly we play you are pro Burnley, we get into some difficulty with bad winless runs and you turn into Mr Hyde and are Anti Burnley with team/squad/Board, we get back on an average run again, still with a lot of poor performances and you are back singing their praises yet its the same squad, I just cannot work you out.
You keep bringing Bolt On up like its some sort of template for us, its Not, In No Way have I said to be cavalier like Gartside and Bolt On in any shape or form as well you know, perhaps you are trying to bring brexit politics into this with a fear factor, it doesn't work with Brexit and certainly has no value in answering my point(s).
We could go on and on and on but we'd never agree, and it could get silly, I have made my views and you yours, some others have chipped in which is good to see, so until next time on another thread maybe Proshchay moy drug![]()
When Burnley play badly I'm the first to say so. I am not fond of either Hendrick or Wood, I would shift the two sick notes by Christmas, the rest of the time I think I'm fairly consistent Alto. I would personally like to instruct Wood on how to look across the line and stay onside.
SD's substitutions (or lack of) always puzzles me, the Wells, Walters and Vydra signings suggest he's only human and fallible like the rest of us. I just don't like to blame Garlick because it's pissing down in Bolton or the ticket machine at Heathrow & Turf Moor goes into meltdown.![]()
Im am sitting in Norway far from AGM, Mr.Rigg etc. ...Is it possible to be happy yet not content? (English is not my first language) If thats possible I think that is what I am. We have done something this window, but certainly not enough. We have brought in JRod and Pieters who both seem to fit right into the team, and gives us more goalscoring oppotunities. That makes me happyThe last day action is not a sign of a club that knows their way in the market. And I am sure SD is not happy with it either. I don’t know what the job these famous five have other than SD and Rigg (kind of) but I would think working with the january window should start now... And if it did things should be done and dusted in the beginning of that window leaving them free to sort out any other transfer requests comming from our own players and/or other clubs. Mr.Rigg clearly has not been able to get SD and many of the fans what was needed this summer, so I have little faith in him being able to deliver in January. And the board will ask questions why we only have DD I’m sure. If they are able to sort it out we’ll have to wait and see. Previous years we made several low bids for players that made me very frustrated. That was not the case this year from what I remember and is a step in the right direction.
Maybe it’s possible to run a club in the EPL buying one prospect and two older guys every year for very little cash. But the other clubs seem to be doing things a bit different.
