We have done something this window, but certainly not enough. We have brought in JRod and Pieters who both seem to fit right into the team, and gives us more goalscoring oppotunities. That makes me happy The last day action is not a sign of a club that knows their way in the market. And I am sure SD is not happy with it either. I don’t know what the job these famous five have other than SD and Rigg (kind of) but I would think working with the january window should start now... And if it did things should be done and dusted in the beginning of that window leaving them free to sort out any other transfer requests comming from our own players and/or other clubs. Mr.Rigg clearly has not been able to get SD and many of the fans what was needed this summer, so I have little faith in him being able to deliver in January. And the board will ask questions why we only have DD I’m sure. If they are able to sort it out we’ll have to wait and see. Previous years we made several low bids for players that made me very frustrated. That was not the case this year from what I remember and is a step in the right direction.
Maybe it’s possible to run a club in the EPL buying one prospect and two older guys every year for very little cash. But the other clubs seem to be doing things a bit different.
    Just saying Will...

In addition to the SEVENTEEN full internationals available we also have raring to play or are already first team choices:

    Mee.
    Lowton.
    Westwood.
    Barnes.
    Legzdins.
    Peacock-Farrell.
    Taylor.
    Gibson.
    McNeil.
    Dunne.

    Perhaps we are doing OK?

If that is the case then last season's wage bill should show a significant reduction, we'll see.
The wage bill in 16/17 was £61m, a year later in 17/18 it had gone up by a third to £81m. We got Keane, Gray, Henning, Boyd, Kightly and Darikwa off the payroll in summer 17, but added Taylor, Walters, Cork, Bardsley, Wood and Wells. It was more or less like for like, any increase in wages due to those changes would only have been marginal, £2m, £3m possibly but nowhere near £20m.

The clue is in the BFC Accounts,

"Wages grew from £61m to £81m as a result of our determination to be more competitive in the market, coupled with increased bonuses for both players and coaching staff due to our 7th place finish."

Increased bonuses for finishing 7th, that's why the wage bill shot up, the staff got that extra money for finishing 9 places higher. We dropped 8 places last season, any bonuses will be drastically reduced, and so I imagine will the wage bill, we'll see.

In Norway the ones older than 30 like us. We play the kind of football we are used to see from England. 4-4-2, Barnes being a handfull up front. It’s the kind of football many of us grew up with. What I dream for is Burnley to keep dreaming not clinging on to the old dream of the EPL. We did that all ready, lest push for something more than survival

There is one alarming similarity, the Venkys thought Blackburn couldn't be relegated, sometimes Mike acts as though he doesn't think we can.
