Maybe that would have been a good result for their previous clubs but a draw feels like a defeat for Aberdeen – and so it should."
“Wherever players have come from, 0-0 isn’t an acceptable performance or result. We need to do more to win games."

“I thought we were OK, but OK doesn’t get the job done.”

The last 5 games have been a country mile short of what we should see & expect to see from any AFC team in terms of commitment, attitude, workrate & ability. Last season was eye bleeding & this last spell has been a carbon copy after a bright start that certainly had me feeling more optimistic than I have for years.

I've been as critical of DM as many on here, but the above quotes are refreshingly honest & for once I totally agree with his summary of the match. He's not sugar coated it this time & he's not just thrown his players under a bus either.

I've personally never seen him come out with statements like this before. Whilst of course managers defend their players, I do think DM has done himself no favours with some of the excuses he's trotted out for dire performances & results.

This is different. This is very honest & I sense he's as pissed off as the rest of us currently.

Of course the $64,000 question is what he's going to do about it. Proof of the pudding will be in the next few games.

But, like most big problems in life, the first step to solving them is admitting their is a problem in the first place. I'm hoping this is Del's "road to Damascus" moment & things will change.

Maybe a forlorn hope, but what else can we do as he's nae going anywhere regardless...
Very good post and I think Saturday will be very revealing as to whether he really knows the way to Damascus. Ross will come and sit in and play their version of hoofball. If McInnes has truly seen the light he won't play Bryson, Ojo and Ferguson, who are effectively three sitting midfielders, in the same midfield at home to Ross. We will definitely need more creativity than those three will provide to break down Ross. So will he throw off the anchors (copywrite Red John) or will he revert to type. As I say it will answer your question of whether the penny has really dropped or whether he is all talk in the press with no intention of changing.

It's too late for DM to change. You were all warned.

I mentioned it once or twice.

He’s been the same since day one, only his players aren’t so good now.

He's a Hun. What did people expect and I don't want to hear "but Fergie was a Hun". He was a jilted Hun, hated them even more than than "feck_the_huns" pretends to.

We need to go foreign next.

Nope, iam not having it. Its just deflection tactics.

It would maybe ring true if we werent utter sh1te last season as well.

He sets out the team and its phucking brutal, he and his bosses are not winners and DO accept being also rans and just being OK.

No way will he change. After eye bleeding performances he decides Ojo, Ferguson and Bryson would be best suited to get a winning result
The Anchor Man is gazumped by his own preference of player. He wants the team strong with players who can break up play to help our defenders and then somehow wonders why we have no real cutting edge.
Get used to this as this is his way. If you want him out shout to get him out...it’s about time he realised we don’t like his style of football.

Are people being so naive that they think if we managed to get rid of McInnes everything would be rosey?

It wouldn’t,McInnes isn’t a very good manager but he isn’t the biggest problem at the club.

Until that neep is out of the club we will always be pish, the last 20 years have proven that.

No I don't think they're being naive. Most dissenters know fine well it's Milne that's holding us back but just because he's the main problem it doesn't mean we shouldn't hope to eradicate any lesser problems that can be identified.

Of course Milne is the problem but some folk think he's doing a good job and just as worryingly, some think he's a d1ck but happy to back his mental idea about moving us to Kingsford.
